10 "Best Bang for Your Buck" Video Game Titles

You made sure you were a good boy/girl all year and you've hung your stocking with care. In hopes that Saint Nick wouldn't be effected by the economy and would soon be here. All of your good deeds paid off and now you have an xbox360 and/or PS3 and most likely a handful of Christmas holiday loot. But what games should you buy that would stretch your gaming dollar the furthest?

Interesting but value is subjective, saying something takes a long time to complete (like Fallout 3, Oblivion or GTA4) does not necessarily make good value.

Th best value games I have bought in the past 2 years have been COD4 and Uncharted, very short single player modes but I have played them much much more than GTA4 which I have not touched since I completed the last mission.

And for what it is worth, Far Cry 2 is the most frustrating game I ever played, it is big but driving across a landscape to do the same mission over and over (before getting plugged by a sniper on your way back to Pala) does not make value, variety and fun are much more important that repetition.

Pretty good list, i have half the games mentioned and i pretty much agree. You know what, my friends have been splooging over themselves about Fallout 3. I think i'll buy it next once i get tired of Mirrors Edge and Prince of Persia (both under rated games).

I think they should have swapped out GTA with Saints Row 2...Graphics aside, there is a lot more to do in that game. They also missed Burnout...How can you leave out a game that kept feeding us free DLC? Kudos Criterion.

CoD4 is definitely the most value I've gotten out of a console game since Morrowind. Oblivion doesn't count, because I have it for PC =)

I'm sure there's a lot of people find a ton of value in R2. It has a lot of different things for you to do. Add in the experience system, and you can keep going for quite a while.

High value all comes down to it being your cup of tea, though.

I agree with you Deviant. R2 is going to be spinning in my PS3 for quite some time.

I did get Fallout 3 for Christmas and I'm just now starting that... but R2 will be right there in my play rotation. :-)

Didn't get Fallout 3 for the ps3 cause I couldn't do cheats like the pc. I'm having alot of fun now not worrying about money in in the game lol.

Bethesda games are always fun to mess around in with cheats. I loved crazy custom spells in Oblivion. I messed around with them more than playing the actual game. Nothing else like summoning an avalanche of boulders onto somebody's head.

This just seems like a list of long games.

I suppose the hours to dollar spent ratio on these games is quite high...

Fallout 3 is one of the best games I've played since oblivion (considering it's pretty much oblivion with guns...that's fine by me).

6 - Definitely Burnout Paradise...
I've put in 110 hours into that game and I'm still playing it. 110 hours is a LOT of time for "just a racing game." Currently, I'm only ~80 Challenges away from 102% (not a typo).

COD4 and Halo 3 both took many many many hours of my life.
