Silent Hill: Homecoming Best Survival Horror of 2008

UGO writes: "Silent Hill: Homecoming ranks among the year's most underappreciated games in my own humble opinion. It has been all but overlooked during the mid-December rush to celebrate the best that 2008 has given us. I'm here to correct that with this little appeal to those of you who enjoy a truly exceptional survival horror experience."

1 - Err, no
Silent Hill: Homecoming was a pale shadow when compared to the previous games, and it wasn't nearly as scary.

If you want genuine survival horror, play SIREN: Blood Curse. Now THAT game was scary as f*ck, and it even had one of the designers of the original Silent Hill games on the design team.

2 - Hell no
Although I did finish SH:Homecoming, it was nowhere near being any kind of GoTY in any kind of genre. Dead Space easily took this over SH.
