'Halo Wars' Will Not Repeat Small-Text Sins Of 'Banjo' And 'Dead Rising'

Stephen Totilo from MTV Multiplayer writes:

"'Halo Wars'Here's one more important "Halo Wars" fact that I learned during my recent interview with the game's lead writer, Graeme Devine:

-The Game's Text Won't Repeat The Mistakes Of "Banjo-Kazooie" - Several prominent Xbox 360 games have been programmed to display text in such small sizes that words can't be read on standard definition TVs. Pity the gamer who hadn't splurged on an HD set. This was an issue with Capcom's "Dead Rising" in 2006 (which was never fixed) and Microsoft/Rare's "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts" earlier this year (which Rare plans to be fix)."

4.1 - WHAT AN INFORMATIVE COMMENT YOU'VE MADE
sorry for the caps lock :)

(my advice to you: do not play the game if you find it unworthy, but please let's keep on topic. Caring for SDTV users is a good thing, and that was the topic)

4.2 - hes kinda of right though man
RTS's were ment to be on PC's IMO and many others opinoins as well. the RT's were specifically dsesigned to interact with the mouse/keyboards potential in the PC gaming industry.

(this might sound biased but take it as you will)-if anything the ps3 will do a better job of handleing a RTS since you can hook up a bluetooth keyboard and/or you can allways resort to the (rare and unknown lol) FRAG-FX witch if ya didnt know,is ment for PC gamers to use for FPS and other games they may have interest in for using a keyboard/mouse setup.

anywho back on topic-its good their relizing this, the dead rising one was hard to read and ive never played banjo so cant comment on that one.
i allready hgave a 46" LCD-TV sammie so im good to go on any game. and ive got some good vision :)

To be small text, or not to be, that is the questionnaire! I bought a 26" HDTV for 479$, but it's picture is kind of fuzzy. But I gots to say, the lighting has gone wayz up!

Wow, are you close-minded. The mouse and keyboard approach is easier and perhaps less-limited than a console controller. But I still wouldn't call the controller "limited" in its effectiveness. RTS games made for the computer were configured from the ground up for the mouse and keyboard, so as expected everyone feels more comfortable with it like that and afraid to try anything new. That being said, Supreme Commander plays unbelievably well with the controller, and it was simply re-configured for console play. Halo Wars is being developed from the ground up for consoles. So I expect it to be very comfortable and efficient.

Also, your fanboy-rant about the PS3 being able to use the keyboard and mouse is proof that you aren't well informed on the systems. Both the Xbox360 and the PS3 support the keyboard and mouse. But that doesn't matter because I doubt that any developer will make an RTS game for a console that supports the keyboard and mouse because it would give an unfair advantage to those who have it against those who don't.

So there.
