All Killer Instinct games are pretty average fighters anyway so I can't quite see why anyone would be looking forward to a sequel.

My interest for a Killer Instinct game 100! I was planning on selling my Xbox 360 after I finish Gears 2 and going PS3 only since not it has most of the games I want to play and it's the better media machine (My Blu-ray collection has exploded). But, I'll have to keep the Xbox around for KI3 alone.

It has to be legit, it would be stupid for Rare to tease about it this much if it was vapor. As a matter of fact it would be suicide. Too bad it won't go cross-platform. I really would like to eliminate one of the consoles and Sony is my choice. But Xbox just has some great games that will never be on PS3 (ok, Gears series, and no, Killzone, Resistance, and Uncharted are not in the same class for me, no matter how nice the graphics may look, at times).

KI is a great game. i re-bought KI from ebay a few months back just to play it again. one of the most fun fighters. ONLY thing is, i would prefer it on the PS3 because of the controller. 360 dpad is horrible.

While it may not be the best (since best is subjective), it does have some advantages like:

-It was super fun
-It's the first game to introduce obscene combo's we see in SFT, and every other fighting game.
-It had absolutely great music
-And was probably the best fighting game in being a good balance of skill and timing and pick up and play for beginners.
-And who could forget, Black Cartridges.

and it's also a prooven franchise in every sense since it was popular and used in many lans. Not to mention everyone wants an XBLA port of the original, so I mean, there must be a reason why.

you ask a question and then say nobody can answer it...before even giving anybody a chance to answer it. You say you do not like 3-d fighting games, just soul calibur......well I do not remember Killer Instince being 3-d...so what was your point here? To add.........you list fighting games that you consider to be proving titles......perhaps you should check the lineage of Killer Instinct...and you will see that it was in the mix with some of those tiles and has become a franchise people love. Then it seems like you would also be suggesting that no other fighting game can make it beyond the ones you have mentioned. now, with all that said.......I do not see anything Rare can do to make people love the next version of the game. I do not think the transition to 3-d would work well.........and it has too much hype around it to be simply 2-d.

3. what is this one combo nonsense you speak of? i remember going on practice mode just to find out new combos so again, if you havnt played the game why comment?

4. nothing like Mortal Kombat? its what mortal combat should have been in terms of quality and content, mortal combat only come close with ultimate mortal combat 3 but you wouldnt no that since you havnt played KI yet

Naw...I am a Sony Fan overall, but KI deserves its props.

Its hard to "Hate" on a game when its best played on a Arcade over anything. I think the last sentence goes with ANY Fighting time...since they are all considerably better usually on Arcade.

It seems like all of their new titles are well scoring and popular, maybe not for "hardcore" but I'm sure a banjo/viva pack would be a great gift to some younger members.
