Square Enix Announces their 2009 Line-Up

GamingShogun writes, "Square-Enix has announced their 2009 line-up of titles. Some of these have not been nailed down for a North American or European release as of yet, but given their track record it is only a matter of time.

beside they lied many times before, last i heard that FF13 will be released this december in japan in E3 so what happened?

i believe they will release those games in Europe and US aswell,
before the end of 09.

They've been in development long enough to begin show off gameplay footage and screens, mark my words. Before 09 you will own FF13 and Versus.

I'm really pulling for Star Ocean The Last Hope. It might just be SE's "Last Hope" on the Xbox 360. In any case, the game looks good. Not as bad and Inf. Undiscovery. or The Last Remnant. FXIII I will get on PS3 for the obvious. A bit skeptical on Kingdom Hearts for DS. The Bahumut game for the DS I'll keep my eye on.

They need to step their game up. I honestly don't see them doing very well outside Japan, not that many big hitters for the main consoles besides a few. Considering how The Last Remnant turned out I'm kind of skeptical.

Squaresoft had great games
Enix had great games
Square-Enix effin suck. I don't know what went wrong in the merger, but it destroyed but companies.

I stopped caring about FF after the crapfest of FFXII. Now, maybe they'll have a 2010 line-up too, but if they keep doing average crap, I don't think they'll have a 2011 line-up.

(Unless they become MicroSquare-Enix? I thought MS would've bought Tecmo first, but it seems plausible with SE's lack of revenue compared to 2007)

Oh crap Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) and Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3) in 2009. What does that mean? No 360 FF13 til 2010, OMG if that is the case.

Don't trust that they will stick to this release list though

This is only Japan release, and from what we know FFXIII is only coming on PS3 in Japan.
I guess that the North American one will come out in 2010, and probabaly the PS3 and X360 on the same time.

But FFVSXIII is coming in 2009? Didn't they say that they would release this game at the same time in Japan and NA? I think I remembered that someone stated as much, that it would be the first FF with the same release in both Japan and NA.

I have been looking around, and I guess I was wrong, but can anyone confirm if it will be realeased at the same time in Japan and NA?

i would guess that ffvs13 would be released in NA in 2010. i doubt they can even make the 2009 release date in japan for ffvs13. i hope the game would be similar to kingdom hearts gameplay wise. i dont like rpgs in general, but some Action rpgs catch my attention.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Unless this is the Japanese release lineup, then that is something that really stuck out for me.

And remember, this is just the 2009 lineup as it stands now. As we've seen before, nothing is etched in stone. This is just what they are planning on coming out with, and they can add or subtract whatever they think needs to be. Saying this because we STILL have no definite proof about SO4 staying 360 exclusive and some 360 fanboys might use that as a weapon against the "SDF" that they think every single PS3 owner is a part of.

Ur insane if you import the final fantasy's if you can't understand japanese. You won't have a clue what's going on, you'll just be staring at a pretty screen. Y not just wait til you can have the story element of the game (which is normally a big part)

but as for ff13 360, it doesn't have to come out next year.
the japanese version can come out in 2009 and the english version only in 2010 so that explains it

FFXIII and FFAgitoXIII, are the only FF's that are coming out 2009, Versus is 2010, realistically,

Dissidia 2009 might be the US release, it comes out in two weeks in Japan

KH:BBS and KH:352/2 2009 True

Last Remnant(360) it's already out.............PS3/PC versions 2009

Most those are debatable, and won't come here so we shouldn't care

Also he should differentiate US/EU/JP releases

Given the mixed reviews for the JRPGs on the 360 (Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia good, Infinite Undiscovery, Blue Dragon, and the Last Remnant not so good), I'm a little wary of Star Ocean IV...but I'm hoping for the best.

15.1 - you know Nomura did more things
than just create kh... its a sub par game at that, he was the character designer in 7 and brought us cloud and sephiroth, one of the most reconizable figures in gaming, he also worked on the original parasite even, and brave fencer musashi, also character designer for ff8 and brought us squall, and tidus from ff10, he also directed FF7 AC, and hes the character designer for all the ff13 projects he isnt just working on VS, Its just that hes also the director of VS and kinda incharge of that. Sucks that ppl just keep calling him, "the guy who made KH"...
