I can't blame him. It must be a pain seeing the series you have created being turn from a survival horror to an action adventure game.

I am fan from the beginning, and i can completely agree with him,
they didn't need to make the changes inorder for it to become a big hit... they just needed to improve the already excisting features...

i still miss the old days where you had to really think hard on what weapons to save ammo for and soforth... todays RE, it seems you can just run and gun your way through things and then finish the game with no tactics whatsoever...

so tell me capcom?
was it worth it?

they basically destroyed the very thing that the company was born from, only because they wanted more sales... shorterm better sales vs longterm better games.... ?

I agree, Resident Evil 5 will be great but it's not Resident Evil. RE is about spooky, creepy stuff, not rabid blasting...

yes >.> nothing like bad camera angles, slow moving characters slow moving zombies, i remember playing those games, i never got scared or worried. the only thing that scared the slittest bit me was.....do i still have my ink ribbon. T_T. i like the way the new games are going, they are more built for a scare, they are better horror games. not im scared cause i cant see around the corner....even though my character is looking in that direction.

Yeah, apparently poor control and a totally gimped character is necessary for a horror game. *rolls eyes*

Sure, the new games may not be as scary, but that's because your character is more possible to control.

Shinki Mikami is too busy making new IPs and original games instead of playing a horror series that is recycled as a shooter

Shooters can still be plenty scary if they make them right. Look at F.E.A.R. That game almost made me piss myself.

4 - that's the very first thing
I noticed about resi 5

resi 5(still have to play it)seems like a shooter,it doesn't feel like a true resi game,it seems to follow lost planet and dead rising road as a fun action shooter/fighter,with hundreds of enemies poping at you at once without focusing on the horror factor,I got frustrated when I saw the co-op style gameplay, damn,if I want co-op I'll play gears or R,no need, this is resi, this is horror

worse yet,am afraid the whole game design fails to deliver the typical resi style

am sure 100% that resi4 have much better game design,humor,places,pacing/flo w,characters and magic

but still I have to try it

Controls can be improved yeah and camera angles, we're talking about the nature of the content, it should be dark, spooky and scary not what it's become

9 - First off,, noone knows if part 5 will be scarier or not because its not even out yet
As for what Shinji said, I totally agree with him. This is not Resident Evil. It should be a new IP. Also, the guy on top said that Resident Evil 1 till part 4 were all slow and not scary. Obviously he's just a retard. This game is slow as well, you cant even move while you aim. Resident Evil 1 and 2 were scary,, for a video game. The closest thing to scary in my opinion was Clock Tower. Siren was a scary game as well. I dont know what to expect from R5 but I know that playing coop will take alot of the horror out.

10 - RE Didn't really Grab my attention til 4
I played all the others, and the revamped ones on Gamecube..but they we're just kinda meh.. and CLUNKY!..good god!...

I agree no one really knows how scary RE:5 will be, It will probably have the best story of all!...and there was plenty of Mystery, and investigation in 4 to hold my interest, It was one of the few games of last Generation that i played through more than twice!

10.1 - I agree...
I've played through just about all the RE games since the first one, and I really wasn't too impressed with any of them (except maybe Code Veronica). The game's pacing was somewhat dull at times. Definately hated the camera angles. However, I did like the gameplay style of Eternal Darkness much more, it was like a mix of RE and a 3rd person adventure - and I found the atmosphere of that game was much more creepy than just plain slow zombie visuals.

It wasn't until RE4 that I really enjoyed a Resident Evil game. Didn't find it scary at all though, but it was it was good fun experience.

12 - what about resident evil: outbreak??
i know alot of people gave it sh*t and yet it at least kept with the same dark concept and camera angles and puzzles n stuff. ok there was the element of co-op(sorta) n u did have to interact with others. there was also new moves to the game(hiding in closets, crawling on floor etc..)

couldn't they have continued the game like that without the co-op thingy? and without making it into a mission based game?

i heard it was pretty good when played online. i never got the chance to play it online myself.

13 - LOL YOUR ALL IDIOTS
Shinji MIKAMI (this guy), was the MAIN person behind, RESIDENT EVIL 4....if anything its because of this guy, the series made a big change, which IMO was needed.

and to point out, the classic RE's were NEVER EVER scary, RE4 has more scary and Horrific enemies.

all his saying is, he won't play RE5, because it wouldn't be the type of game he would have created, (nothing to do with action or horror)

gsus.

14 - YOUR ALL MORONS
Mikami's words have nothing to do with the classic RE's, since he freakin made RE4. How the fcuk do you people misinterpret this?

He even noted that RE6 would have to be an even bigger change from the older RE's.

idiots.

I will like to see the return of the old gameplay, like in resident evil 1,2,3,CV,Zero. I miss that kind of gameplay in RE. Oh and bring back the freaking zombies again.

RE4 is simply amazing. My second favorite game of all time. For anyone that hasn't played through the entire game, for 20 bucks it's a f*cking steal. (And yes I'm talking to the douche that says they can't handle not being able to move while shooting).`MGS3 & 4 tie for first place.

WHoever hasn't played RE4 will most likely miss out on 5, and that's a real shame. Do yourselves a favor and pick up RE4.

I played the old RE games and the series definitely needed change whether the creator likes it or not. I enjoyed the old RE games but their were things that I didn't like as well. I didn't like the camera system that didn't convey the location of the enemy until it was chomping on your neck. I didn't like having to backtrack to a location to look for a paper clip that's hiding in a garbage can that unlocks an door. The puzzles, and the camera angles led to frustration at times. I do respect the survivor horror element though. You had to manage your ammo and inventory which did convey the sense of fear that has changed with the new RE.
