I have only lost the one RROD. The turn around time was fine, but the timing was terrible. The day before I picked-up my pre-ordered GTA IV.

i called in a rrod earlier this week. when i told them 3 red lights they immediately told me it was covered as a faulty hardware problem and they would be sending me a box. no mention of any warranty and the system i called in was from 2006 so we know the standard warranty is past due.

Every 360 has a 3-year warranty specifically for the RROD issue. I wish it was a 3-year warranty on all defects, but at least that one's covered.

SUCKS2BU, thanks for posting such a great article!

But seriously, if your drive is sticking it may go bad. If it does, just say you have RROD (even tho you will only get one red light), and they will fix it anyway. But normally, thats not covered by the three year warranty, so keep an eye on it.

Anyway. On a side note. Why is it that every article gameplayer.com.au post, they have to mention the fanboys aggressively. Just post the news or article without mentioning them. I know fanboys are irritating but just avoid them. Im starting to get annoyed by this site.

looks like its going to be a sad christmas for a lot of xbox 360 owners, all this good games and nothing to play it with.. the hardest thing to endure is no more warranty's...

it's a good thing i got me a ps3 so my christmas is still white or what you might say blu-xmas. you just got to love it.

btw if you guys are lucky enough to not get an rrod on the nxe, then enjoy your mii's on your xbox.. nice update. what a coincidence i got the same thing on my wii. hehehe.. lol.

and also to the fanboys no crying allowed, you can always buy another xbox 360 and endure another 3 years of agony. right?

In Australia they just give you a 90 day extension. Or they did when I got mine back anyway.

Plus I think it is more about the fact that you now may need to prove your Xbox is less that three years old.

7 - I got a march 2006 Xbox 360...

The Xbox 360 came out in 2005 in the states not 2006....

So i got a few months left on my warranty. I have not had a RROD on it yet...but I rarely play it. I am thinking of upgrading to the NXE tonight...wish me luck.

My PS3 is flawless...so is my wii. All 3 flawless so far...i am just scared for the Xbox 360...

With comments like that all your doing is hurting your credibility as well as The Bit Bag's. RROD was an issue for me personally as I had 2 360s break on me before the 3 year warranty. As an informed consumer I decided that purchasing another 360 was not worth the risk. Some people decided to take that risk and the RROD was and still is a very big issue, and as a gamer any system that has a high failure rate should be loathed because of it. Granted some PS3 fans use this to get under 360 fans skin, it is entirely irrelevant to the situation, and to stoop to the level of what you would call "fanboys" is petty and juvenile.

lol. rrod news is hitting hard after nxe. i guess im the lucky few with no problems? i got gears 2 on my hdd and works fine. netflix is awesome, nxe is just great and problem free for me anyway.

i wonder how many sony fanatics go out there way to act like they have a 360 and say nxe just messed everything up. i wouldnt be surprised if 90% of complaints are a fake.

look at Sony, they found out about some problem with their laptops they had to recall all of them i dun remember the full details but its something like that, they had some problem with another device they also recalled it just to give the consumer the thing he paid for, not something that would brake, and brake by what, a game that was made for it, or a service given by the same company that made the console, and if your warranty is finished u would have to pay for their own mistake???

Sony's battery problems were a health hazard, they could actually kill you.

The RROD is not and therefore not required to recall because safety isn't an issue. Look at this more like the PS2 DRE issues that $ony just ignored and told anybody with the problem(like myself) to pay up to fix it. At least MS is fitting the bill for the RROD repairs.

i dont think being in a certain "place" has anything to do with like, a malfunctioning gaming console, or the supirior gaming experience it beholds. does it? it would be good to see sony in first but even if they are not i am still enjoying their console to the fullest.
