3 Months Later, Too Human is 50% Cheaper

The woes for Too Human aren't over yet. Everyone knows the background story and how it took forever to release, and how the critics slammed it. The latest story is the plummeting price point…

1 - Is it 200% better?
Cause if not, I'm not getting it. I was really excited for this game and bad reviews caused me to rent it (I rarely rent). Good thing I did.

When all the hype is over, when the fanboys are silent, when the review wars are done...

...this speaks the most about the quality of this game.

I enjoyed the game, I will never be ashamed of admitting I enjoyed a game. And if I didn`t like one I won`t flaunt around and tell people that since I did not enjoy it, it sucks and no one should like it. The word subjective should be a very important thing here. I know peaople that play it, and played it for a good while.

also, I could easily start up a blog and say that some game is cheaper since launch, this article is typical crap that should never be approved on N4G. This got approved in 2 minutes while real news sits in pending for hours and hours...good job (enthusiasts)

P.S. I really, really really enjoyed Lair, who the f*ck am I?

who said anything about people forcing me, a blog is a blog and my opinion is my opinion. You don`t like it, I suggest you take up on your own words of wisdom.

send a tell to the N4G admins, maybe they would want to start up a site called B4G. I`m sure it will do great also. Or maybe the ruls have changed here, have they?

No rules against blogs. We're gamers too. There's more to life than corporate sites being run by advertising dollars.

My bad, there were rules against blogs before, or maybe I dreamed it. There should be some (Blog) section on this site at the very least, don`t you think that would make a little sense?

oh, you mean 2 years of dev as a playstation game teased in 1999 and a tech Demo on the gamecube in 2000, then put on ice for 5 years while they did MGS: The Twin snakes and Eternal Darkness. Work on Too Human was then re-announced in May 2005. how`s you math? and do you have any clue on how a game is developped?

I know that SK is a Canadian developer but you don't have to get defensive when someone mocks the game...People will never let go of the 10 year development argument...right or wrong.

right or wrong, I will always defend truth. I hate the hate this dev gets simply because people are blind (enthusaists) and can`t accept the fact that we are all snowflakes that have different tastes. If you don`t like a game, or it`s stupid hype which you in the end helped to create, move along and read up on stuff you like.

don`t mind me ;D

For the record, I don't own a 360 but I did get a chance to play Too Human and I found it very addicting. I wasn't impressed with the graphics or the story, but I had a hard time putting the controller down. Personally I chalk the game up to personal preference, but I think Denis was more to blame for the lack of appeal than the game itself.

Edit: I originally wrote that I don't own a PS3...I meant 360

I completly agree, hype is a douple edged sword, or in this case, it was a double bladed double edged Scimitar. Anything that gets overhyped will get chewed up by so may people. Too Human is a great example of that.

Too Human is still the worst game of this generation.I always thought to myself "Wow,Lair is officially the worst game of this gen",but once I slipped Too Human in it was more like "Holy fack.Someone did it.Someone made a game that plays worse than Lair."

Haze and Infinite Undiscovery were also a big disappointment, but they were more of a "Meh,game doesn't deliver on the hype" kind of disappointment.Too Human and Lair though, boy, those games were really something else.

5.2 - This was disappointing.
I loved Silicon Knights work and was really disappointed in this one. The 360 fanboys were all crowing for months about "Too Human! We still have exclusives! Look! Too Human!" and then they were silenced. While that made me smile ('cause fanboys drive me nuts on either side) I wish it wouldn't have happened to Silicon Knights.

To the guy talking about Lair, I understand that once they gave you the option of turning the motion controls off..it's really a lot of fun. Too bad that wasn't an option with this game. "Hey! Here's the problem. The game options are set to Suck. Let's switch that off. Hey, that's way better!"

When I played Too Human, I actually thought it has a very good sound design and music.

But it certainly didn't match the rest of the game. The gameplay and visuals are extremely mediocre. And I swear, the character models and animations look like play dough.

I second HighDefinition's statement. Even if the game had been made in two years and had zero advertising, it wouldn't have been a good game. I've played worse but it had some very rough edges.

Lowering the price isn't a bad thing just look at the amount of good games launching this holiday season. Lowering the price actually makes good sense. Not mentioning if the game is a mediocre or a good game.

10 - I've actually played Too Human.
It's by no means a bad game. It's just not revolutionary in any way and pretty much earned it's review scores, but it is still fun to play. At half price it's well worth it if you passed on it at $60. I also enjoyed Lair and Haze on the PS3. Nobody says a game has to be a critical success in order to be fun. Think of these games like action flicks. They will never win an Oscar, but they were still a good time.

it was a fun title. I had to play it through for our review, and I enjoyed it. This doesn't mean it got a stellar score, nor is it worth full price. But calling it "Worst game EVAR" is a bit extreme.

Knock of another 25% and you got yourself a deal! No way am I paying 30 bucks for this game! Most people were really excited about this game.... until they played the demo. Maybe it would have sold more copies if they didn't release the demo in advance:P

Slept on gem...I loved Too Human. Best time I ever had while my in-game character died over and over and over. After completion I kept the game just to try out the online co-op (still haven't) Game was a blast, but in this case the gamer wins when critcs overly pan the product..you see prices like this follow. Everyone likes to say that it took a decade to make, but the developer eventually chimed in that they actually only had a year and a half of development time for the 360 version. Flaws and all..I'd still love to still play a sequel.
