NXE Avatars Now on your Gamer Card

Xbox.com is back up with a new addition, your avatar. Avatars have now been added to your Xbox Live Gamer Profiles, so not only can you look at the likeness of yourself on your console with the NXE but on Xbox.com as well.

These avatars are shameful. The new dashboard is a welcome change but these things are just a blatant rip-off of Mii's, just like Home is of Second Life. Whats next the Mii60 plaza? Or SecondHome apartments?

NXE - slick.

Mii Too's - really really gay. I really hope there is a way to not have these on your gamer card, as I personally think they look embarressing... and this is giant step backwards.

I know some of you kids will like this tat, but come on, we should be able to not have this, surely??

Its like they've given me a sweetie, but filled it with something sour... :)

Perhaps the more mature gamer doesnt like the 'avatar' thing whereas the younger ones do like the idea?

Perhaps some feedback on this ^^^^ so we can work out where everyone sits - just an idea!

I'm a 30 something gamer too and my gripe is not the cute aspect of the new avatars, its the taking another console's idea without any innovation. Lets face it, all companies borrow from one another but MS isnt even trying to cover it up. Sony is barely trying for that matter. I think if you are going to "steal or imitate" an idea at least make it better than the source material. (For the record I own and like all 3 systems) These new avatars and the rumored motion controller MS is doing is just coming off as copying the competition and not besting them.

14 - What's the point
I just find it funny how they're forcing us to create one. Looks like all my themes are going to look like crap as well. I really hope the the new interface wins me over in this update....I really do. I'm not feeling the avatars because they're not serving any purpose for me at all. Besides looking at them and saying "whoa that looks cool!", what the hell are they here for?
