I felt the exact same way until I played the PC demo. Now I think this is more suitable:

Graphics are good.

Gameplay is generic.

Variety is non-existent.

Animations are crude and consist of around 3-4 varying types.

It plays like a mod of Half-life 2.

Oh yeah of course the PC version's graphics will look "good" - depending on your graphics card. Still won't be that great though. And this video is from the 360 version.

aint there a negative 360 thread that needs patrolling(n4g normally caters quite adequately for your type), or a lbp thread or some blog saying how the ps3 will become president of the US, for you to linger in?

on topic: l4d, loved the demo, graphically nothing spectacular although it looked ok on my HD, but the game is a riot, and 4-player co-op is great fun...day one purchase.

No no, dont judge the man. Play the game first then play Half Life 2 mods... say Zombie Master. Then you'll see why people could see the game as just a mod and not a full game worthy of $50-$60.

I wish it wasnt costly since they're using the same stuff. The gameplay is great since after all everybody loves zombie killing games. The tongue grabbing attack of the Smoker or whatever you call it is very angular.

The grainy effect isnt as great as how Killing Floor 2.0 or higher managed the effect. Killing Floor is a UT2004 mod, btw.

Also, i wish they had more zombies on screen. I thought it was going to be up to 40 at least. But most of the time you only fight 10-15. That's easily comparable to the zombie mod for Counter Strike: Source.

4 vs 15 zombies isnt that "survival" like... only when somebody gets grabbed by the tongue or the when the Brute guy comes is when people die. Btw, you have unlimited ammo on your pistols fast switch to a the auto shotty or normal shotty in dire situations only.

I'm stating the fact that the lines within L4D are akin to 28 days. If you weren't such a delirious idiot you'll also know in the movie a scene plays out where they go through a tunnel to reach the military.

So the main lines in 28 Days Later were "I'm reloading", they're were boomers, smokers,and witches every where, and zombie video games aren't allowed to take place in a subway ever. This game is so FAR from 28 Days Later it's not even funny, but since that seems to be the only zombie movie you've ever seen I guess you can't be blamed for your actions. I suggest not calling someone a moron and PMing them with the exact same thing you posted, telling them that you are ignoring them as well. "Oh noes, somebody didn't agree with me! I must ignorez them!" Who are you, George W. Bush? lol.

What does the line, "Now go back to your hole" mean anyway? Is that what you say when you hope the person you respond to hours later doesn't come back and pwn you?

i always laugh at ppl who would rather have shiny graphics over great game play. fun > graphics. the demo is awesome. the fun factor is thru the roof. videos dont do the game justice. Expert mode and 3 other mates does.

1 did you play it on the easiest difficult or the hardest?

2 did you play it alone or with 3 of your closest friends?

cause i know after playing it with 3 of my closest friends on expert, we had to take a minute or 2 just laughing after respawning back to the beginning of the checkpoint after dying cause it was so halariously freaky

you made a good point, but i have a feeling this game is goin to get even more intense. also, consider that there are many types of zombies which will surely add spice to the action. But, rent it first and try it. i for one am buying it day one.

That's partly my beef with the game. No one serves any purpose on the team. I would have liked to see each character have a skill that directly affected gameplay. Imagine if one member could take out Tanks with ease, then they die and you now have a giant ass whipping waiting for you. You'd change up your attack, your strategy. In this, you simply move from room to room to room to safe house, killing the same zombies over and over. Fun, yes for awhile. Buy it does get repetitive and...boring.

i actually like that fact that everyone is equal in strength and weakness in the game...this game requires A LOT of communication from everyone (if playing with friends),

if one person tries to be a hero and go ahead of the group to run and gun everything in his path you can EASILY die (on expert)

the other thing i like about the game is that they always come from the same spawn points on the same loops...if you play through it once and they spawn in certain spots of the map and you die, you cant expect them to be in the same spots the next run through...you have to watch all sides of the map, even some walls

you can never fully plan a safe way to beat the level, you can only learn where they can POSSIBLY come out from...at teh very end of the demo, me and my friends kept thinking we had every thing set, but then teh brute type boss comes out and we werent ready for that, then the next run through the witch was in our place and lost a person after startling it...too many varibles

i agree with you my friend. this will be another great title from Valve. my platform of choice is PC, but im happy 360 owners also get to enjoy it. i feel bad the ps3 owners who arent d-bags cant enjoy this title as well. Valve has another AAA title on their hands.

and thats because graphics don't always cut it when it comes to a great game...its gameplay first, graphics second

thats why i hate it when i see ppl hyping up a game because of its stunning/realistic/etc type graphics...the first thing i always try to find out is how does it play out, and then if its coop-able, and (for myself) graphics is just a plus, not a necessity

The thing is Left 4 Dead looks boring and unoriginal in every way.I dont want it for any system to be honest.Bioshock and The Orange Box are games I can be happy to get for any system but Left 4 Dead is just a joke much like the life of an xbot.Shooting zombies is so old that I think xbots weren't even born around the time Resident Evil 2 came out

The Source Engine is showing some age. but i got back and play SoTC now and then....why? not because of its graphics. because of its GAME PLAY. which some of you spoiled graphic whores think means something nowadays. L4D may lack the graphics of a Crysis or a Far Cry 2, but it makes up for it in GAME PLAY. sooner or later you kiddies will learn. as my all mighty PS3 collects dust, ill have my fun with L4D on PC.

playing the demo with 3 of my close friends on expert was the most fun ive had on a game for a while now...we literally had to wait a while after respawning cause we were laughing so much

yes, graphics are basic
yes, texture isn't quite up to par
BUT gameplay was, like i said before, the most fun ive had on a game in quite some time

if you play it alone with the AI, play it on the easiest difficulty, or just run through to beat the level, then you will OBVIOUSLY have no fun
