Left 4 Dead Demo Exploits Removed

When the Left 4 Dead demo went live for pre-order customers on Thursday, some very shrewd gamers figured out how to hack the PC version to allow split-screen co-op, play as the zombies, and use custom maps. Unfortunately, the fun's now over - Valve just closed the loopholes.

Just found this on steampowered:

WHEN WILL THE DEMO BE AVAILABLE?

Early access to the demo begins Thursday, November 6 and is scheduled to begin around 2 am PST on the Xbox 360 and 7 am PST on the PC.The demo will feature single player and co-operative modes, supporting 1 to 4 player games.
On November 11 the demo will be made available to all Xbox 360 and PC gamers, with no obligation to purchase. The demo concludes on November 18, when Left 4 Dead will be made available at retail outlets across North America and worldwide via Steam.

Presumably the 360 demo will be available at 7am PST today (although the timing is unclear for the public demo it might be the same as the early access one). I would also assume this will be available in Europe.

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard: You have to pre-order the game before you can play the DEMO.

What is the point of a DEMO when you have to put in your order first?

Demo is now on the xbox live site...4PM Uk time....Demo size is 1.2 gig...........Lets rock n roll.

Reminds me a little of the timesplitters extra modes like Behead the undead........Used to love that game mode,wave after wave of undead ..
