Gears of War 2 and Tom Clancy's EndWar are Region Free

The Videogamesplus Team has tested Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 2 Limited Edition and confirmed that they are both region free (the bonus disc that comes with the Limited Edition isn't though).

Also, turns out that Tom Clancy's EndWar is also region free.

If i understand it, it means that an American copy of these games works in 360s from other regions such as the EU and Australia and vice versa etc.

The fact these two games are region free is peculiar, because DVDs are usually locked and only playable in specific regions as a form of moderation on imports and piracy.

Not all Xbox360 games are region free.

For example, an Asian/NTSC-J version of Armored Core 4 will not work on a US Version 360. And vice-versa.

Region-Free 360 games will work on any Version of 360.

But most of the new 360 games are region-free now.

Oh btw, the PS3 is the Region-Free. That's why importing PS3 games is not a much of a hassle. :)
