Left 4 Dead Early Access Demo Begins Early Thursday

Early access to the Left 4 Dead demo begins Thursday, November 6 on both the PC and Xbox 360. The early demo access is scheduled to begin around 2 am PST on the Xbox 360 and 7 am PST on the PC.

'On November 11 the demo will be made available to all PC and Xbox 360 gamers worldwide, with no obligation to purchase. The demo concludes on November 18, when Left 4 Dead will be made available at retail outlets across North America and worldwide via Steam. '

It's only through EBGAMES or Gamestop when you get a code. On Steam, it's automatic.

It does not.

This is one game where cross-platform play would actually work well, though, since it's mostly co-op. Valve said that they made cross-platform play with Team Fortress 2 in-house, although they've never shown it to the public, so I'm assuming cross-platform play for L4D would be totally possible.

Damn i got the code from the gamestop site by just faking what you have to fill in .... and then i got it last night, but.... i couldn't wait to install the NXE so i CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT :( damn i suck :P

11 - This game rocks.
I managed to play this game at comic con in San Diego. Its a thrill ride to say the least and there's nothing like hearing grown man scream and beg for help over voice com. PC guys, bring your l33t CS skills and prepare for a tough and extremely unpredictable fight. Console guys, prepare to die, A LOT. Let me repeat, A LOT!! The game is incredibly relentless, it never lets up, there is no breathing space, ammo is rare and any available resource is either swarming with zombies or a certain trap.

On the plus side the overwhelming odds and the fear of the unknown forces people to naturally cluster together like a child to a warm blanket. In most coop games people can sometimes wander off and do their own thing. Not so in this game. There is no better motivation to play as a team than bone chilling terror. Trust me, you never want to be alone at any point in this game. Never.
