PC version of Gears of War 2 in WCG poll

Rumor: Polish video game website found out, that there is PC version of Gears of War 2 in World Cyber Games poll. Considering fact, that global tournaments like WCG must be prepared in advance, this can be true. Will GoW2 be released in early 2009?

That's the only way some people would get a 360, if some games weren't coming out for the PC.

Me myself, I was going to get a 360, but if I can play Gears2 without buying anything extra, then I may delay that purchase and buy something else.

The site has to be wrong, there is no way Gears 2 for PC, even if it exists will come out in early 2009. Exclusivity is for a minimum of 6 months, and last time it was a year.

1.3 - Still, low and behold,
I can look to my game collection for my laptop and see Gears 1 sitting between Orange Box and Company of Heroes, and that wasn't supposed to exist according to the same thing they said a couple years ago. I'm not saying it WILL come to PC, but I can't trust what they will say either way, it's marketing.

3 - First of all
Let me make it perfectly clear that I am a huge Gears Of War fan.

That said, if in fact Gears 2 does go to PC Epic will lose a lot of credibility in my eyes.
Not so much that it is going to PC because I could care less either way but the fact that Epic insisted it wasn't.
The same way they insisted that the first Gears wasn't then released it on PC with more content.

I won't lie, that really pi$$ed me off.

There is no way in this world I can believe that a PC version wasn't planned all along, especially since the PC artwork got leaked shortly after Gears came out.

What really Pi$$es me off that they did a re-release with the extra DLC but not the extra PC stuff.
I know they said it couldn't be done but I really believe that was all B.S.
It was a double dipping ploy.

It is one thing to say a PC version is planned...however to lie about it and then release an enhanced version with exclusive content is shameful. This better not happen a second time or else Epic will lose a lot of face value. If they are working on a PC version I feel they are diverting resources that otherwise could make the 360 version even better. Don't screw early adopters and release a PC version with exclusive content. Better yet, don't release a PC version at all if you've said multiple times it doesn't exist. Otherwise Epic is calling all of their loyal fans idiots for believing them. Should a PC version come to pass, Epic gets the bird from me.

Edit: Judging by the sales of the PC version, I don't think there is a huge stimulus to release a Gears of War 2. Just my two cents.

Edit 2: I would feel the same way if Resistance 1 or 2 (or both) came to the PC. Exclusives should be kept exclusive.

5 - Doesn't matter what Cliffy said.
Microsoft will make that call. And you can't balme them for doing a PC version. It's only about money. Cliffy (or anyone else for that matter) HAS TO say that it won't come to PC, because this is the kind of game that will sell 360s. Last thing that Cliffy and MS would want is someone saying "I'll just wait for PC version". Once they see the 360 version's sales slow down, then they'll talk about it.

Regardless what this article says, I'm guessing GeoW2 on PC will come out Novemeber 2009

They probably will release a PC version sooner or later. But, this game is meant to push consoles this holiday season. As has been said before, after the sales go down, they will probably announce a PC version for sometime early or mid 2009 (my guess). Though this time, I doubt they will include any exclusive content, since many people were pissed last time about that. They might include a map pack with it that will be released later on the 360, but that is about it I bet. Personally, I'm hoping for a PC release since it will no doubt be Windows Live enabled. Hook up my 360 controller, turn up the graphics, sit back on the couch and enjoy the game as it was meant to be played in full 1080p.

I would not mind a PC version sometime in 2010 or so (like it was done with Halo 2, MGS, Resident Evil, etc), but definitely not in 2009!

I know 360 is very similar to PC, and porting (looks like) is trivial, but Epic should not be tempted, especially after seeing PC sales of the initial one:

I checked google -> none
I checked wikipedia page (of GOW) -> none
I checked best seller games list on wikipedia (1M+) -> not mentioned
NPD 2007 results:

cliffy only said they are not doing a PC version, but somebody else can port it like Gears 1. Its a MS publish game, if MS want to release it on PC they can definitely get somebody else to do it. plain simple.
