This is where EA's milking pays off. This is my favorite survival horror game this gen and I like the idea of it being treated like the franchise it should be. Hopefully there's a massive upgrade in the next installment and not just the same thing as usual(even though that's not all bad).

I heard they are already working on Dead Space 12 for the playstation 6 and xbox 1800 .. the visuals are amazing but you will need to remortgage your house to buy the future 100800p 2000000hz 1billion to 1 contrast ratio 3D smell-ovision super-oled TV to play it in its full glory..
ps6 and xbox 1800 version differences can be clearly noticed using a tunnelling electron microsope..

1.5 - Very good news
Dead Space is the best horror game on this gen and one of the best of all time, as a horror and Action game. The universe is so big that I see this as a genuine expansion more than milking.

I have to say that I am excited about another Dead Space and look forward to another chance to get into the world of horror that this game presents. I do however hope that they do not take it to next level of milking and present to us a RTS in the Dead Space world and then announce a parallel sequel called Dead Space, operation Drop Zone... Outside of that, bring on the sequel.

Not too surprising. A movie in capable hands would be amazing. Too bad Guillermo del Toro is busy with the Hobbit for the next four years. Ridley Scott looks available though. Let's just hope it does not end up with a hack like Boll behind the camera.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
During that last cutscene, the developers probably want you to think that Issac probably died, but I think that there's a chance he could have survived. The ending defiantly left a lot of doors open for a sequel.
I hope that Dead Space 2 is just as long as the first Dead Space as well because Dead Space is the 2nd longest PS3 game I've played so far(16 hours), with MGS4 being the longest (over 20 hours). After playing Dead Space I really felt satisfied because I thought that it was the perfect length...not too long, and not too short, but just right.

Dead Space is the reason people have recently stopped hating on EA so much... let's hope Mirrors Edge is good enough to solidify the new found reputability... the first review was a positive 9/10 from OPM

great news.
whats even better is reading all the luv this game is getting from gamers.
it will be interesting to see how they improve on something so good. More importantly can they do it and better it.
How do you beat zero G ? one of the best moments was walking into zero G room with the bodies floating. I blew this guys arm off with the cutter and it floated towards me. As i was half standing in the doorway i nudged it pass me and into the hallway. as soon as the arm went past the doorline and into the hallway it just dropped to the floor.
I know it's such a little thing, but it left a really really satisfied feeling inside me. this was some real next gen power at work.
wish more games would push the tech forward on things like this ( not just upgrade graphics )
anyway, bring on Dead space 2. can't wait.
wonder what the 3rd one will be like if it comes out on the next gen systems ( 720 and ps4 ).

15 - I have to
Agree, I think dead space is the best survive horror this gen. I would love to see more of a co-op added to the game. It would be cool to have online co-op where each character has different skills that needs to be used for example, one can hack and override net works, and the other can repair things. For example, the only way your partner can hack into the security system is if you repair the power supply in dock C, but you can't get to dock C with out your partner overriding the security system in You guessed it, Dock B. So both have to spit up and do your job with mini task that help each other out on the way

This game has potential to be a good movie if they do it well. It can stand on its own as a sci-fi horror movie even without the game tie in provided they make some necessary changes to turn it into a movie (more people that are alive).

21 - Not hard to be the best Survival Horror game out this gen
when Siren: Blood Curse is a download only game here in the US (I want the hardcopy so haven't played it). But Im sure the DL only version has actually hinderd the performance of that game!
Silent Hill: Homecoming was ruined by the new devs. I feel the game is overall pretty enjoyable and what not. But it actually made me go back and relive the good old days of 1 + 2 insted.
Dead Space not only destroys both in graphics. But also in controls, atmosphere, gameplay, mod-able weapons/suit, gore, etc..
Overall I feel as if Dead Space actually almost hasn't even had any competition. Even Resident Evil 5 will be good no doubt, but it lost its scare factor after 3. I feel it may be the only thing this gen as far as Survival Horror, unless something else thinks it'll be able to top it... which won't be for some time. It's a shame too because Im a huge fan of Survival Horror games as it's one of my fav. genres. Im currently replaying through Clock Tower for PS1!

Both verisons recieved good reviews...There is really no difference between both the 360 and the PS3 when it comes to multi titles.
Besides most multi titles are ported over to the PS3 when it is developed on the 360.

Not this one. The lead platform for Dead Space was PS3. And visually, the PS3 version is better, especially because of the full 128 HDR lighting (and then there's the screenies with better textures on the PS3 version but screens can be edited so I think it's even). :P
But yeah, most multi-platform titles look ~= nowadays.
Like Far Cry 2, there's those chairs that pop-in a split second later than the 360 version, but then there's no clouds >.>
