Joker's T-Rated Gag Gun Fatality All Gag No Gore

Ripten: "In the midst of all the Metacrtic user score bashing, you may have missed out on some fairly important Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe news. The Joker, and the Gag Gun fatality we fell in love with not long ago has fallen reworked due to ESRB scrutiny."

Translation:
1. Midway sells out.
2. T rating rapes MK.
3. :(

The game looked good and as I understood it, as long as the blood wasn't persistent, it would be ok. Guess that wasn't good enough for the ESRB.

Too bad! You knew they would try to push the T rating as far as it would go, but end up having to scale back a lot of the good stuff.

3 - I think DC made the T rating a condition...
So without a T rating there won't be any MK vs DC game. Too bad about the gore, but this seems to be aimed more at casual gamers...

well I will still get the game since it still looks good and fun to play. It does not really bother me as long as they still have moves you can do at the end of the match because the fatalities have been unoriginal since mk 2 if you ask me just look what they did with the finishers for the last mk game non of the characters had a signature finishing move lol Its like they were going down this path along time ago lol

You may want to reconsider that. Watch the Green Lantern and Flash brutalities on GT first. Even the Raiden one sucks.

That was the only thing that kept me from completely blowing off this T-rated nonsense. No matter how crappy the new "Heroic Brutalities" and "Fatalities" looked, I could always fall back on the Joker's looking pretty awesome, giving me hope that the others might be altered to push the T rating. Probably not even getting a rent from me now.

As if the transition to 3D wasn't bad enough, now they rape the franchise known specifically for excessive gore, giving it a T-rating so all the new-school casuals with their fragile sensibilities won't cry too much. Really pisses me off.

I agree with you 100%. I saw the Green Lantern, Raiden, and Flash finishers and I thought it was strange that the Joker could have his be so awesome and theirs be so lame. Then I realized they nerfed the Jokers and that was it. I was all set.

You know what these developers could do since I'm sure the PS3 has a parental control, and I assume the 360 has one too. The game should detect if there are parental controls on. If parental controls are on, the gore animation would automatically turn off or something while if you are the adult you get the full gore animation.

Thats actually a great idea. I'm not sure how it would work from a political standpoint but its a great idea. Bubbles or you.
