I find it true, the bosses are quite easy, and I didn't die at all yet in the game. I don't look at my health bar that much but I do sometimes when I realize how much I get whacked. The game is pretty easy and the online co op is pretty stupid... There is no point in making your character stronger or to even go for the great loot they have... Its useless in all this game is good but in no way is it near AAA. Peter Moneylux should stop making promises he can't keep.

This is the best game he made. The only thing he really lied about was co-op. Which shoudln't even be considered a feature. It really is a hoax. Someone needs to tell molyneux that people were expecting co-op ala too human, or diablo 2.

this game a rent and move straight to Gears of War 2.

it doesn't really seem anything much like the ground breaking AAA game I was hoping for and the graphics look craphouse, although the dog seems an awesomee addition which I can really connect with and am sure countless others can, it should be fun nonetheless.

ah well.

I guess the game doesn't have game breaking glitches. A game should be judged by more than face value. I LOVED the original Fable. I will LOVE this as well but I will not buy the game until those game breakers are fixed.

but it's obvious from the review that they don't get the game. Fable 2 is completely non-linear. there is so much to do and become that the main quest is just one more thing amongst many others to complete. in fact, once you complete the main story line you are presented with a new landscape and new quests. thus, continuing the game in a non-linear fashion...funny, they don't mention how the game continues onward even after you complete the main story line.

after watching that review, i wonder if the reviewer could even give a decent definition of linear without looking in a dictionary. whoever was writing this review was thinking linear and got surprised by a non-linear game and couldn't comprehend the difference so he or she threw out the "linear" buzzword because it didn't compute. all in all, a dumb review. hey, gametrailer, if you need a decent reviewer who knows the definition of linear then PM me. I think GTA4 is over-rated but I would never accuse it of being linear. Fable 2 is the same way but better.

one last thing, I expect Fallout 2 to be docked points because it doesn't even offer co-op or online play in any form. go ahead. bring the score down a notch and mention it in your review. didn't think so because that would be dumb. a game should be judged on its merits not on some slack ass C average college graduate's expectations.

If you can't see that this game is too 'linear' then you certainly don't know the meaning of a true open world game. The quest is extremely linear, and the fact that you can do some ancillary things does not make it any less so. This was one of my beefs with the original game, and its still true of this sequal. At least you haven't got the annoying voice over constantly nagging you to go and do the mission the game forced you to take, like in the first one.

It's a great game and there's lots to love about it, but its NOT perfect, and for me it didn't fix the things I wished were better in the first one, and I actually find the combat a little worse.

If you loved the first one and want a better looking follow up, you'll love this. If however you are more a fan of the open world titles like oblivion or Fallout 3, you might find it a little linear for your tastes too. But there's more than enough to be discovered to check it out, and some of humor is top notch!

4.2 - What makes it linear?
Because to me it's not linear at all.

If I have to kill a group of baddies, I can dispose of them any way I want. Magic, sword combat, long range. I can also decide how i play a role in the quest, if I decide to kill the enemy myself, or if i do what the person instructed.

Not to mention the game itself is extremely open. i do the quests I want, kill the people I want, goto the places I want. You can't get a more open world.

I agree with everything this review states.... except the score. Game Informers actual review wasn't as good as this one but they got the score spot on with a 9.25.

8.6 leans a hair more toward a 9 then an 8, so it's well worth playing.

proposition: games that get less than an 8 SHOULD NOT COST $60!!

Ha. That would be impossible. How would they change their pricing that close to release? Anyway, I'm sure this game is worth the 60 bucks just because of the time poured into it. It seems like a very deep game.

7.1 - This game gets a 9.3 from me.
I have been playing this game for about 50 hours.

Haven't had any glitches.
and I've only played through 1 quest.
There is a seemingly infinite amount of side quests and goodies.
(Owning property is a game in itself. This game has an amazing lifespan.)

I'm not a huge fan of the co-op camera and generic characters,
but the friend orbs are amazing.

Me and a friend connect in a private chat, follow each other's orb and explore for treasure or any extras.
(it could be whole different co-op mode.)

Fable is a 1 player game.
The co-op is more of an extra than a main gameplay feature.
The main idea of it seems to be able to show your friends your world.
(because it changes based on your decisions.)

8 - This is the only
RPG i've been able to enjoy in a long time, it has such a nice atmosphere the towns feel alive, the combat system is very fun to use - making you actually look forward to fighting something and the business side of things is great if you like that sort of stuff.

If you have an xbox 360 and like rpgs, you'd be a fool to miss this. You lot are not getting the most out of games this generation because you are all hanging off reviews there are some amazingly good games out there that have been rated 5 and 6/10s.

There is a few annoying glitches in there so i'll give them.

If it interests you, get it. Seriously.

did anyone notice Gametrailers were advertising fable 2 or was it just me. b/c i saw some banners with fable 2 on it (hence i expected an inflated score). Same with gears of war 2 banner. or am i seeing things?

Half a century after fable? This guy needs to go back to school. 500 years is not half a century :P haha

But havent watched the review fully yet, only saw the first 20 seconds or so. Playing the game myself at the moment. Got it this morning and so far I've put in about 10 hours, and I've only done 2-3 main quests :P I've been getting so lost in the world. I decided not to kill dan the househusband and made friends with him. (assasination side quest). I figured I'd get to know my vitim first. So had a couple of beers with him and now my hero is fat. Haha. Spent a good few hours working and buying myself a house, and falling in love with my adorable little doggy.

This game will definitely keep me busy for a long time. I dunno how ill fit in all the games coming out on the ps3 and 360 over the next month or two :| But i'll do my best :P

I havent hit any of the glitches people have been talkin about, thank christ, and I was extremely happy to see the items I won in the little flash game on fable2.com were waiting for me in a treasure chest once i'd reached adulthood.

My personal score would be a 9. no 9.2 or any of that stuff, just a simple 9 out of 10. Simply because no game an ever be perfect, and peopl who moan about glitches are just nit picking. Every game has glitches. big or small.

Now if only my brother would stop playing fifa 09 and then maybe i could get back to playing it (I donated my 360 to my cousin when she was sick in hospital, so I gotta share with my bro these days :P)

i like their Real Estate mechanism. It'd be cool if some MMORPG actually have that. I'm the opposite from you. I'm the bad guy in F2. Kill EVERYONE! ;D

you are right though, so many games from both system, so little time to play it. The ps3/xbox360 fanboys are missing out. Instead of having the best of both worlds, they're stuck to their 1 system due to their tunnel vision.

I'm a PS3 owner and I think the game looks pretty cool. I'd get it if I had a 360, but in terms of RPGs, I'm only excited for White Knight Chronicles.

9 should be fine for this but what with most games releasing broken?
Games should now be mandatory beta (private or public) tested since they are becoming more and more complex and all bugs/glitches/broken features can't be found out by just internal testing. Looking at FARCRY2, anyone p!ssed at their stupid ranked matches concept? Why do you always go back to multiplayer menu after one game? Nobody told them that this is not 2005, in 2008 we expect to continue playing the game with same people. I hope they fix this damn issue atleast.
