Reward Reaches $50,000 for Missing Ont. Teen, Microsoft and Jack Thompson Offer Assistance

Ripten: "The search continues for the missing Ontario Canada 15 year-old, Brandon Crisp, who fled his home after an argument with his father over their decision to take away his Xbox.

According to Barrie police spokesman, Srt. Dave Goodbrand, Microsoft Canada has offered to do "anything they can to expedite the process to find Brandon," and the company is putting their money where their mouth is as they doubled the reward for information leading to his safe return, bringing the total amount to $50,000."

I hope they find this kid and he returns home safely to his family.

Immediately after that I hope that Jack Thompson decides to show people how games from his era were much less violent by reenacting a level of Frogger only to get hit by a car and die. One can dream.

It's hard to actually believe this story. Probably because of the "xbox" part.

2.1 - Find a better family?
All because his dad took away his xbox? This kid is dumb to runaway from home for that reason. I hope they find him, but it's just a stupid reason to go missing. When I was that age, my dad hid my nintendo all the time but I didn't runaway. Of course, I was more of an outdoor person then too, so I was more active than I am now.

Some of you need your brain checked and installed again.
How can you tell that the kid is away all this time because of the xbox? There is a high chance that he only left for hours, planning to get back anyways but was kidnapped or harmed by someone while he was out.

Instead of showing how pathetic some of you people are, how about wishing or praying his safe return?

Yeah. I made the mistake of heading to the Open Zone to see at least one resident has already made this fuel for the console tantrums.

Very true dude, they should just look at the users that frequent the open zone and ban their accounts. It would make this site much better. The open zone does nothing for this site except, it is just a place for the trash to go.

i live in barrie where this kid went missing. and it's entriely possible he was kidnapped, his bike was left in a hidden part of a trail. Although the other end is equally possible

8.1 - What a dumb kid.
Yes I hope he comes back safely and I'll pray for him, but I also pity him for being such an idiot. I hope that this event doesn't stop his father from disciplining him in the future. I don't think we can be sure that he was kidnapped or that he is simply still away--from news stories such as these I don't think it's unlikely for a kid to run away for a long time over something stupid. He could be aware of the media and either afraid to come home or just seeing how long it'll play out. Or maybe he really doesn't want to come home. At the same time, if he's dumb enough to run away over a video game, he's surely dumb enough to get in a car with a stranger.

I think it's a bit stupid that Microsoft is actually getting involved. Just because the story sounds a bit fishy. With MS putting up money, it could just give someone else the chance to "lose" a kid and have someone else(a friend) "find" the kid.. Not saying that this is fake, though.

Well, I do, however, hope that they find the kid.. it sucks to hear about missing kids.
