On couch co-op, they most definately did. They would've been better off making it split screen.

co-op on fable 2 is not the same as others,infact the person you play co-op with appears as a ghost in your game, lol.
it bullploop.
game is crap anyways,i was stuck halfway down a hill for about 5 minutes while farting constantly.

i looked forward to this game since last one and im really gutted i dont like it.

Seriously?? This is horrible and kind of upsetting. Only xbox game that interested me, just lost me.

Why arent the Xbox boys in here defending this? Is this really how it works? I dont want to play some random henchman that builds nothing towards my char.

I wish blizz would just release D3 on consoles so I can be happy.

i kinda assumed that playing as a 'henchman' in co-op mode did mean a henchman character (like from the first game) rather than your own individual character

i read the ign review and complained about it a lot. anyway i think im gonna get this game cause the co op was not the main feature for me. but i think they should have done better.

Xbox owners are not in here defending it because they are too bust playing the game. Sorry just had to... I would be playing but kids have ball games in few minutes. Admittedly I have not opened my copy yet but I plan on a nice night with it. As for the co-op, I am certain that a patch will be upcoming because this is just unacceptable in the current state. However I look forward to playing co-op with my brother and putting the moves on his wife.

I'm so sick of the double-standards with gaming journalism. I read the review that gave Fable 2 a 78 and the reasons given just didn't ammount to such a low score, most of them were very nit-picky and then I read a couple more reviews from Daily Game and realized the site was a joke and none of their review scores make any sense compared to the general consensus on a game. For example, they gave Mass Effect an 80. I mean give me a break. Get out of business Daily Game.

Lionhead promised one thing and delivered so much less. Not only did they remove online co-op from the final version (to be included at a later date), but they totally destroyed anything that could be cool about the co-op at all.

Don't even defend Lionhead. There's no excuse. We were led to believe that we would be able to bring OUR character into another person's game world. We were led to believe that Fable 2 would "change the way we play co-op games". Yeah right. It's like Mario fanboys claiming that Super Mario Galaxy has fun co-op.

I'll be playing some REAL co-op games like Little Big Planet and Gears 2 instead. Skip Fable 2. It's such a failure (and yes, I've played it since midnight last night when it launched).

the co-op is most certainly flawed, but it's playable.

it's not quite Balder's Gate: Dark Alliance playable (ie, the camera in Fable 2 is constantly trying to be behind you, which means that the second player has to be in sync with you at ALL times, or they'll get lost off screen), but it's playable.

my other complaint is not being able to actually play as my hero. i'd like to be able to buy and change clothes/hair color/weapons, and keep it all when i go back to my new game. playing as miscellaneous henchman # 2 is lame.

me and my fiance have had our frustrations, but we're having a good time playing with one another.

now, if Lionhead wants to patch it and improve it (a split screen option would be AWESOME) i'm all for it, but to say they "dropped the ball," isn't quite correct.

i think they made some poor design choices, but it's not a complete shambles. i think gamers are too damn spoiled these days, so that when ONE THING, isn't to their perfect standards, they rush to their blogs to b*tch and moan about it. no game is going to be perfect, and while i wholeheartedly support voicing our complaints to the devs/publishers, i think the gaming populace tends to suffer from "knee jerk, blow everything out of proportion" reactive tendencies.

All Lionhead said was that you could bring earnings and experience back after playing co-op with someone, to your own world. That's it.

Can't say that I wouldn't rather have the actual character though.

Well, that is a bit upsetting...but I think most people will play it by themselves anyway.

I mean, Warhawk was beaten down for focusing on its incredible multi-player (to which they've added a lot of content for), Ratchet & Clank got a bad review for having "too much variety", and Metal Gear Solid 4 got a couple bad reviews for having such an intricate storyline...but we shouldn't punish Fable II for screwing up something that was promised to us...

...right?

I still think the game will be good, but seriously? That's just cruel.
