Gears of War 2 Is "Epic's Best Work Yet"

Gears of War 2's moved a step closer to its November 7 release, with developer Epic announcing that work on the game's done and dusted.

"After two years of pouring our heart and passion into Gears of War 2, the team is immensely happy with what we've created," said design director Cliff Bleszinski. "This is Epic's best work yet, and we can't wait to see the response from fans and newcomers to the series alike."

I dunno how the two can be compared, ones a duck and cover 3rd person shooter and the other is an FPS. As games it'd be a bit hard to compare them fairly.

As for backdrop and story I have to say I prefer the resistance model. Just more my thing and a little more imaginative.

woww, gow looks just like unreal tournament. ...........ok.

Anyways, Resistance 2 is where its at. Not only do the graphics look awesome, but the technical achievements in that game really shine.

Now is the time when the ps3 starts to differentiate itself in terms to POWER.

on topic. obviously epic are gonna start hyping this now. but i'm not surprised they are happy. personally, i think gears2 will be the pinnacle of what the unreal3 engine will do. after this, i think epic should start working their next engine.

still, gears equals a day one purchase for me.

It's typical Cliff Bleszinski hot air,

Unreal they had to fix the MP component which became UT, UT2003 was borked so we got UT2004 as a retail patch, UT3 is severely rushed feeling and unfinished so we'll no doubt get a UT4 addon to fix this too at some stage.

Actually, thinking about it... it probably wouldn't be too big a stretch of the imagination for this to be Epics best. Gears was okay but a little limited/boring.

Edit: I seem to remember seeing a making of video for UT3 on the net before its release with numerous devs saying that that was Epics best work to date... look how that turned out.

but I can't wait to get gears of war 2! Was one of my first 360 games ever (number 1 that is), Rockstars Table Tennis doesn't count lol, I can't believe I actually bought it, I got so bored of that game after an hour *sighs*

8 - My money is on gears of war.....
WHY??

Because:

1. FPS games are getting old and boring, once you played a fps, all of them pretty much is the same.

2. Marcus fenix is way more badass than Nathan hale

3. There are more variety of enemies in GOW2 than R2. MOst of all the enemies in R2 looks the same. Gow2 enemies may not be as big, but its more badass.

4. GOW 2 has more blood and guts which is way cooler plus cool melee attacks that you dont get in r2

5. The first gears was a bigger success than the first Rfom

6. They will introduce more characters and more weapons. The storyline and scenimatics will be deeper in GOW2

7. The vehicles you get to ride in GOW 2 is more cooler.....reapers, brumaks, armored lazer car.

8. the AI is way smarter in gears of war than Resistance

9. Who doesnt love the chainsaw gun???

10. you get to meet the queen!!!

Your severely biased opinion...I'd be willing to bet anything that you haven't played either title yet, making most of your comments pure conjecture and gibberish.

Both games are going to be great. I don't see why they have to fight each other, they aren't really even in the same genre.

I personally prefer Resistance's story over Gears'...well, we'll see what they do with 2. That doesn't matter though since this is a Gears article. Why are we talking about Resistance?

Every new game is always "Epic's best work yet" according to Epic.
Same as "we're maxing out 360 with Gears"
Then: "No, now we're maxing out 360 with Gears 2"
Also, "no Gears 2 on PC" like "no Gears 1 on PC" (except this time, since they lied to you the first time they're adding a new lie - "not profitable or piracy" or some other bs that'll be overturned soon)
