Activision clarifies Guitar Hero World Tour pricing

Alexander Sliwinski of Joystiq writes:

"With no pricing details explicitly stated before, it wasn't surprising when a few people were confused and contacted us about Guitar Hero World Tour showing up as a $240 bundle on Red Octane's official site -- especially when the company doesn't seem to be offering a non-deluxe bundle. The special bundle adds to the normal instrument and game package: a t-shirt (Male XL only), battery charger, key chain and guitar case."

It's still a freakin lot of money. 10 bucks less than a 360.

people will still buy it though and that is the problem with these games

they sell you a game that is simple to program and weak from a tech standpoint and sell you these cheap plastic instruments that have regularly been faulty upon the launch (rock band strum bar, guitar hero 3 neck, guitar hero 2 whammy, rock band drum pedal break with moderate use)

they are really aping the customer on these games and i wish more people would realize that, they could easily just make a cheap expansion to the existing games with new songs and visuals and people would be happy

but instead they slightly modify the mechanics or add a small new feature and charge 2 legs and a kidney for the pack

at least with rockband the game is compatible with the old game and downloads where guitar hero isn't, which also doesn't make sense since they made the new metallica album compatible with 3 and world tour so why nothing else? at the very least the guitar tracks should be compatible

well that is my rant on these games, the funny part is I bought my first real guitar in high school for roughly the same price as this game and it has been much more fulfilling to me
