God of War combat designer worked on Quantum of Solace

Good news for those of you looking forward to upcoming Bond game Quantum of Solace - developer Treyarch drafted in the services of the God of War combat designer to make sure the QTE melee combat was up to scratch.

The man in question is Derek Daniels, who was added to the Quantum of Solace team to ensure the quick time event-based melee combat was enjoyable, responsive and very straightforward. The PlayStation exclusive God of War series, as we all know, is one of the best action titles of the last generation, with QTE combat to die for.

Interesting, I am looking forward to this game. The PC demo was short but fun, cover system works well and was fast paced without being disorganized.

1.1 - That's cool...
as long as James Bond doesn't pull out Medusa's head, or Kratos doesn't cameo severing limbs using a wrist-watch laser or pen-bomb...

In all seriousness, I hope Quantum turn out to be good. There's so much potential playing as Bond...

Aww, no Medusa's head? I was really looking forward to it. Bubbles for the fun part.
I hope Quantum will show us really cool James Bond action.

I guess if he was a good developer he would be developing GOW III and not working in Quantum Of Solace, which looks like might be a game that will pass unnoticed...

As long as his work on QS didn't interfere with GOW III

So that's why the demo was so crappy.

I'm not a big fan of QTE, I hope it won't be overused like in the Bourne game. It was ok in God of War because you only relied on it in the end boss battles and each time it was a short sequence. I hope they learned from that.

"with QTE combat to die for."

Ugh, I hate QTE's. I'm hoping they go the way of the dinosaurs here real soon.
