Fable II: All single-player games stored on MS server, 64 simultaneous "orbs" in world

Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux has told VG247 that all Fable II single-player saves are to be horded on one server for the purpose of filtering them back down in the game's intriguing co-op "orb" system, that allows you to let players into your game through floating balls of light in your version of Albion.

Yeah, but LittleBigPlanet can store entire levels on servers, so I don't see why saved games couldn't be stored on servers for download as needed, but you do make a valid point, maybe it's some behind the scenes thing.

Ironically, fanboys from both systems post on each other's threads about equally, but you seriously over reacted there. PirateThom was just comparing it to what LBP does, not saying it was superior, just adding more to the previous comment about why it was possible.

does this mean u have to have an internet connection to save ur game?

i was recommending this to a friend (he has a 360 i have a ps3) and i really enjoyed fable 1 on the xbox, probably my favourtie original xbox game (yup i liked it better than halo)

That's pretty cool, but do we still have a copy of the save on our hard drives? Cause that would suck if XBL went down and I couldn't play my fable 2 because my game save is somewhere els.

Yeah, it does sounds cool. I think there will be a save copy on your harddrive. The way I see is, there will be a copy of your file on the server and basically create these orbs that people can use to join you.

this may be the reason of concern about what PM said about being careful of having someone just jump in your game and mess up the outcome..
I just thought if the host saves the game, he always could go back to the old save if someone joined his game and screwed it up.
I am guessing the saves are automatic and also those who join can save the game,,,so be careful with having unknown players join your game

So Fable II becomes an ORPG without the MM lol
They should do that for all games. If the saves are stored on your XBL account then you can go to a friend's place and continue playing a game there.

64 friend orbs can be in your game at one time, so you will probably run into one or 2 friends.

a drm syetem on a retail console game...doubt it

it is nothing more than an online game mechanic, you seem to just be trying to stir something up

logically how else would the orb system work? they aren't going to make it so you are directly connected to everyone on your friend list playing and eat up unnecessary bandwidth

10 - I would love to see the AI/Branching in this game
I thought this was going to be a MMORPG, but you only play with one other online, so they are pretty confident in their game's ability to interact. I think Peter may Redeem himself with this one.

Congrats, 360 guys; you may have a groundbreaking RPG on your hands.

Your right about this being a fable 2 board but when you read the full article that guy starts talking about ps3.

So how can you expect people to keep it about fable 2 when the very article brings up the ps3?

Pirate tom said littlebigplanet saves entire levels on the server which is correct and was just a response to what the guy in the article said.

"Only possible on the 360 because of the way live is structured"

See i have said nothing bad about either console but i know i will get disagrees and negative feedback.

What can i say guys this whole thing is messed up.
