Yep the 360 will likely beat the PS3 this gen but if it doesnt the gap will be very small

Next gen is when the real battle will start because all 3 will have a huge installbase to convert to the next gen

I think as soon as the ps3 comes out with the heavy hitters its gonna put the 360 on its back. Everyone who has a 360 is gonna be getting a ps3 real soon. All I have to say is one game,, its called God of War. I dont even wanna start talking about the rest of the games coming because everyone already knows which ones they are.

man at this point, it's hard to predict what's going to happen

the 360 is obviously a very limited console, but with MS behind it- you just don't know what will happen next

and Sony has some very important decisions ahead of them- compete with MS's new console with the PS3, or right a few wrongs with the PS4 and start anew

i think the two companies will co-exist for a long time, always coming up with a way to gain some ground on each other..... i mean look at this year, we all thought Sony would own with it's superior line-up and feature set... but then MS goes trigger-happy with the price cuts and levels the field

it will be like that for yonks until finally MS and Sony make a joint console... minimise shortcomings, combine strengths..... how else can they take down Nintendo???

we all know ps3 is the better system right? better hardware, bluray, cell bla bla bla
we all know 360 has more chance to win the head to head console race (not counting the wii here)
and that makes me the happiest gamer out there. i know i have the best system, but sony is getting their a$$ kicked, which forces them to squeeze out more quality games and a better online service for us ps3 owners.:D
so what if the common herd is buying cheap $199 360s? i have a sexier and more expensive console (akin to ppl buying more affordable ford fiestas than rx7's)
just you wait kids till i show you killzone 2 while you are stuck with master chef at home lmao

I like your show HHG but you need to delve deeper into the direction the market is headed which I would be more than happy to discuss with you over our PS3's.

Now that sub-$300 BD players are on the market, expect a price drop on the 80gb unit by the time 160gb is released or hen LBP is, they should announce a global cut at TGS. Sony will win this gen, the longevity of the machine is what will dictate that, just like the PS2. The Wii is hot now and that may continue for about another year but its sales are slowing and will continue to decline gradually until it hits a sharp decline. THe Wii has peaked, and just because it still sells a lot does not mean it hasn't, the 360 is splitting itself into two different markets with its current price drops and model changes, and that is what will be its downfall. They will lose their core in search of the casual market Ninty has captured but it won't work. Sure a price drop on the 360 will cause a sales spike but it won't last for but a couple months, they will continue to drop the price until they can't do it anymore, release the new syste,(Holidays 2010) and abandon the 360 effectively destroying any hopes of being in second place.

Oh please, c'mon H.H.G. what is this? We all know you're game and it isn't talking up the xbox 360. See, that's what kills me we all seen you beaver tree around E-3 talking to Sony's top brass like they were your favorite playmates and now, as of late, I've noticed you and your puppet show pet Torris davis are skewing towards the xbox 360 a lot more.

And that's fine, it's your show and site to do so, people can change their minds but when you have a show and it's geared towards this audience, don't change the format or it's going to fail.

I like you and what you do, man. I watch your show all the time now and this is what I've noticed. I've noticed a sharp turn to get more views on your fence. Up until a few shows back you were very pro Sony and that's who you've always catered too, this alienated the xbox 360 viewers and at the same time the amount of hits you can get on your site.

You thought, maybe I should talk up the xbox 360 a bit and see where that goes. Get those guys on my side, cause up until a few weeks ago Iii use to see the xbox 360 owners bashing the show. not so much anymore.

See, wth me when you come to my show you know what you get. you know I'll break the piggy bank over Nintendo's head, grab the cash, kick Microsoft in the nuts on the way out the door and steal Sony's car to get away in.

That's me and people love it or people hate it. You, you're a pro Sony guy. Be a pro Sony guy, man. That's your thing. People have come to know that you are a very biased pro Sony guy. Don't whore out for hits.

Well.I am 100% there is no way in hell 360 is beating anyone.

for one major reason.There First party dev lineup is disgusting.
Microsoft NEEDS to buy out 3rd party dev's in order to get exclusives.
That cost's them alot of money.And most of those games there buying out aren't even selling that well.

So those same dev's who got paid for exclusive are looking at the PS3 now and saying..damn..15 million userbase huh..we could make alot more money porting it to PS3.
(and that 15 million just keeps growing and growing)

I predict Moneysoft will lose all 3rd party support in a year or two.
And they will have to rely completly on DLC for multiplatform games.

Which is where they will fail since Sony has an army of first party dev's to churn out AAA games every few months.

There is no way 360 is beating anything in the long run.

-I think it may seem that way cuz of the advertising in America but worldwide i haven't seen any good advertising for the 360 only in America.
It's true you hear 360 mentioned in movies, TV, etc. but so is the PS3 if any of you guys seen Tropic Thunder w/ Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey JR., they talk about PS3/Wii a lot.
PS3 is also gonna get some hype for their fall line up.
Especially w/ Little Big Planet, SOCOM, Resistance 2, etc. coming out.
Then if you go looking towards next year PS3 has more fire coming w. it's exclusives that I'm just not seeing w/ the 360.
What games does the 360 really have exclusive wise other then Alan Wake, Halo wars, and Star Ocean 4?
Look at the games coming for the PS3.
At the start of the year you got Killzone 2 followed by Infamous, God of War 3, War Devil Enigma, all the way to White Knight Chronicles and FFXIII.
PS3 is no slouch and if anything the 360 needs some major catching up in game processing next year to be competitive.
Also you need to look what's going on behind closed doors in the industry.
There's already talk from a lot of devs that they're moving towards the PS3 as their main platform of choice for making games.
= 360 didn't outsell the PS3 in Europe but in Japan and America they have so your right on on that topic.
The only thing Sony needs to do to beat the 360 is lower the price by at least $50, put trophies & Home integration in every game, keep pushing the PS3 to make better games, and advertise more in America.

-FFXIII coming out in Japan for the 360 will sell huge numbers but there's a couple of facts that still are gonna turn the tide in Sony's favor.
= PS3 gets the FFXIII Demo exclusive w/ FFVII Advent Children on Blu-ray plus FFXIII Versus is a confirmed worldwide PS3 exclusive by Nomura.
So, even if FFXIII came out in Japan for the 360 they still don't have full edge w/ sales of this game.

-Sony is gonna own TGS hands down.
10 secret exclusive games from SCEJ one of which is Demon Souls and that looks fantastic, Team ICO Exclusive that's gonna be announced, Konami exclusive game is also gonna be announced probably an expansion for MGS4, plus the Fall Line up of games as well as Tekken 6, War Devil, God of War 3, Killzone 2, White Knight Chronicles, Way of the Samurai, Yazuka 3, Resident Evil 5, and much more.
3 new PSP Games are gonna be shown, PSP 3000 is coming out in Japan, etc.
-Of course Microsoft will announce FFXIII is coming to the 360 in Japan, plus the Last Remnant, Star Ocean 4, etc. but still doesn't sound like enough to me.

-PS1 on the Wii sounds cool but not my thing.

-Batman Lego game looks pretty good didn't know you actually could make a Lego game this good.

Other then that good show their were some things I had to smash you on but overall great show and keep up the great work and give us those gaming news.

Me, Sony & playstation fans aint worried about the gen
being over.
Last gens winner, the ps2 is still supprted. There's new games coming out for ps2
today. It still makes money & a ps2 user is happy.
Psp only has the ds to contend with after nintendo gave us several variations of the
gameboy. Others came & went.
traditionally, Sony has always been long term & others though had buzz &
people thought it was hot eventually dont survive & get dropped.

So now hhg has a crystal ball that says first to 10 million is the winner or the gen is
over when xbox360 pulls out or makes another box? That's stupid as I know from experience
that ps3 aint going no where & when you include the fact that ps3 is outselling worldwide & that
not everyone can afford a HDTV yet & xbox360 has had no competition for a year & a half. Shows me
a grown man that eventually people will have a ps3 in thier home for bluray the way people had a ps2 for a
DVD.

When people see the price of a xbox360 & compare it to the price of a ps3 the reaction is there's something very wrong & generic about that xbox. Its cheap because its the fake ps3 with no bluray player. Its gonna be 8 years of
hip hop gamer saying who's the winner? Its me you a$$hole I'm the winner! I got a ps3 that's gonna be supported until the day I die.

I'm a real gamer & I dont care if I miss out on 1 or 2 games & then the console dies or gets discontinued.
I couldn't tell you how good bonk used to be on turbo graphx 16 because I make investments instead of
wasting money on something that could & would be better on my console.

oh, thats why the ps2 won?! sorry i forgot that the sony fanatics in this place think that sony is the only company that has great games even though micro holds the game that has set the record on sales. halo 3 incase you didnt know.

the 360 has great exclusives to with a 200 dollar tag and lets not forget about those classics that you can now buy for a few bucks like prey, most wanted blood money, pgr3, condemned, king kong, graw etc..

now dont go asking me for a list of games if you dont know the exclusives then shame on you. look it up either at 1up.com or the meta chart.

and if you can get those exclusives on your pc great for you and thanks for the support for a 2nd to be made just remember that not everyone games on a pc.
