1.1 - GOW2 = Gears of War 2 and God of War 2
Gears is on top of the Google search if that matters

1.3 - i understand that it is an acronym for both...
but in my logical mind i tend to go chronologically. Since God of War came out first, which is when i started to see the acronym GoW, i automatically associate those three letters to mean that series. I also know that if you google, or wikipedia GoW you'll mostly get Gears, but in my mind GoW means God of War, it does tend to get confusing especially when the proximity of the two games is rather close together (release time of sorts and quality). I know that i am not the only one, and it does seem like only Sony fans see the annoyance of this, its not like we are trying to flame (most of the time) but its just that we want to see some credit given to the original (not talking about grapes of wrath) GoW which is the God of War series.

2 - Yes, GeoW is Gears.
Surely, Microsoft wouldn't want it to be confused with God of War, since that's Sony's exclusive.
