Developers Fight Used Game Sales via New-only DLC for Gears of War 2, NBA Live and Rock Band

"After years of lamenting that they see no kickback from the extremely lucrative used game market, game makers have launched a counter-attack by packing new games with one-use codes for extra content."

1 - I feel a little bad
For game companies, but not much. Used DVD's and CD's have been sold for years, and they cost $10 to $25 new. New games cost $60!!!! If it weren't for used games, a lot of people would not be able to afford to buy games, or not as many. I don't think that these tactics will affect used game sales at all, anyway. The hardcore types who would care about extra maps, etc., are going to buy the game new anyone, many even plunking down EXTRA cash for collectors editions (which are basically a rip-off, in my opinion). The people who buy Gears 2 used probably will only play through the campaign, or maybe co-op, so will neither notice nor care that they are missing extra multiplayer maps....
