New Halo Game Teaser Trailer Explained

Any remote fan of anything Halo knows a new game is coming. Loot Ninja got a glimpse today of a teaser trailer on Bungie about the new game. It looks to be official and not a ruse or red herring. Furthermore, this is most likely what was delayed from the prior countdown around E3 or at least directly related to it. This is their explanation of what was shown in the teaser trailer.

While I completely agree with what you’re saying, I think there may be a public backlash on an ODST game. How many times have we played Space Marines? Will people accept Halo without the Master Chief or another Spartan? Will there be Spartan III’s in this game? Lots of questions come from this teaser trailer. Bungie is being tight lipped, but I’ll keep poking them to see what information they want to give up :)

I think there are so many more pertinent characters in the Haloverse that if they keep the Master Chief as the central character, the story will grom stale.

nice link. I would love a squad combat game like Star Wars: Commandos.

I don't see how that will work if it is an expansion. Nice find on the date, but I hope we could get it from the source soon.

Interesting that they have 01/06/09 as the date. I'm willing to bet that date could even be the European day/month/year format just to screw with us even more.

Interesting though. Although I'm not sure they would want to wait that long for this expansion to ship. Also, putting a game out in June isn't the best bet (summer is always dry for gaming)

I bought Halo to play a FPS, not a squad or 3rd person shooter.

Also, many have not read the Halo novels and, unless it's properly done, won't be able to quickly associate how this fits into the Halo universe except that we're fighting the same bad guys...which just isn't enough for me.

Just because you haven't read the novels doesn't mean you can't enjoy a new portion of the story being brought over. It's an alternate story arc in the same world that gives you more of a perspective of what's going on during humanity's war with with the Covenant. The ODST Helljumpers are the next best thing the UNSC military forces have behind the Spartans (of which Master Chief is the only one we've seen in the games).

And the Halo you bought won't be changing, so you can still play it as an FPS. This is an expansion on the game that won't change the core experience you already have.

So all the hype and the countdown and it was nothing more than a Halo expansion pack? Is this the same "big" announcement that MS omitted from E3 and everyone threw a fit about?

I'm sure the Halo hardcore will love it but I am rather disappointed. I was so unimpressed with Halo 3 both graphics and story wise so I was hoping Bungie would actually take a risk this time with something bigger to announce.

Oh well, I am glad it's a campaign add-on though instead of another boring map pack so maybe I will give it a chance.

9 - Bungie has to dig themselves out
of the rut they got into with fans of Halo 3 (visuals, campaign, and gameplay were weak). Halo 3 came out and I still only seen people playing Gears. Bungie should just wait till the next Xbox system to come out before they take another stab at graphical power house game such as maybe Halo 4? cause what they did with Halo 3 was/still is kinda fun, it wasn't what Microsoft or Bungie truely needed the game to be... especially visually!

I love collectors editions of games, but they are only warranted if the game is great. With how Halo 3 turned out I can only imagine who all felt just as jipped on their Legendary Edition much like myself!

10 - If It is a Halo 3 Expansion...
Then I will be purchasing it. It will be the first time I have ever purchased the MS points. I've been with Halo 1-3 so I'm not stopping now.

It's intereesting how Halo bashing is considered fashionable, yet when they drop product, everybody opens the wallets. Must be just the PS3 guys, because halos attach rate is rediculously high.
