bomb?! you do know that IU almost made 360 outsold the WII in JAPAN in its release week, right? how's that a bomb? I know that the reviews are not high but M$ intention of having all these exclusive JRPG is to make an impact in Japanese market (mind you, not western market) and they are somehow succeeded a little bit. they don't care about reviews from any non-japanese speaking sites, they just want to sell 360 in Japan and JRPG is among the few factors that help console sale over there! this is a clear point already with the release of LO, BD, ToV and IU. at this point, Last Remnant will pretty much do the same for them and thi time, we can expect 360 to outsell the Wii the week this one being released! mind you, this is a Square Enix game!

JRPG's and Infinite Undiscovery is far from totally crappy like the reviews made it out to be.

I don't only play 90+ titles within my Genre, since there will be few in between. Unless it has final Fantasy in the name obviously.

I play 70+ in my Genre depending on the cash flow and some other factors. In other Genres I'm a little bit more strict.

funny you mention it because I just brought it like last week (was £5 brand new) and lol put it in my Ps3 and haha to my suprise on my 32" HDTV it looks funny! but then put it back on my Ps2 on my sdtv and it looks fabs hehe

it's actually staring at me right now asking me to come back and finish it.

It's the first JRPG that went away from the old-school turn-based style I'm so used to.

Now seems like every JRPG is headed that direction, that's why I loved Lost Odyssey. Now everyone is going with the standard, so I have no choice. But FF12 got boring to me and the gambit system was too automatic, I like to make decisions based on each individual character in a turn-based style.

I really liked FFXII combat system. yes, wasn't the better FF, not the best storyline, not the best chars, not the best enemies, not the best art... But for me, it was the best combat system in a FF game 'till XII (let's see XIII).

It was not perfect, but I found it MUCH BETTER than any turn based.

Actually, my fav action RPG combat system 'till today (and best RPG for PS2) is still Star Ocean 3. I know many people deslike it, but I love it. The chars, the plot full of space-pirate, virtual world and time travel (not really time travel, just space travel to a planet on different civilization degree) just have the Sci-Fi nerd fan inside me hooked. And with a the great combat system, real time in a little arena...

If FFXIII (which is already likely to be more Sci-Fi than Fantasy) if they maintain visible enemies on map (Star Ocean 3 sinned there) and make better map designs, so you have to deal with enemies, not just run from it, there is a good chance of it taking the crowd. And the all "bigger, better, more badass" we expect from sequels...

So, I really don't see the resemblence of the combat system from FFXII as a bad thing, au contrair.

Are companies still having problems with the PS3 hardware? Maybe the PS3 version of The Last Remnant was lagging behind so Square Enix decided to call up Microsoft and offer them an exclusive deal so they could get the game out on time, make some extra cash, and release an enhanced PS3 version later on down the road. I know people think Microsoft threw a bunch of money at Square Enix for their support, but if that were the case, why isn't Final Fantasy 13 coming out in Japan for 360? That's where it would help them the most.

Square Enix really betrayed me a Playstation gamer- not because of the FF13 thing, i don't particularly mind that one, but we don't get to play two of their big games in 2008 while Xbox users do??? that sucks, now i know what it felt like to be a Nintendo fan in the 90's

still, the future looks bright- WKS, Valkyria Chronicles, Last Remnant next year

a little patience paid off in 2007 when Sony started to turn things around rapidly in 2008 and im sure a little patience now in terms of RPG's will pay off in 2009 and beyond

no ps3 owner is going to jump for joy. you think PS3 owners are going to hype up a game that is powered by the UE3 engine? comon man, PS3 owners are smarter than that. anything thats powered by the UE3 engine is something that we dont want, sure bioshock is coming to the PS3 now and it got a few people excited that it is coming to the system, but its not just worth hyping. PS3 owners want to see the graphics being pushed to the limit of the system.

even if its multiplat we ps3 owners wont jump at anything unless its worth the money. so thanks for testing the game out for us. if its worth it then we'll get it, if not then most of us will pass.

Hype... how much hype do you want from a 1yr old game? 360 and PC fans have already played it. When it was released for the 360 it received high 9s and 10s. But then again anything on the 360 that gets great scores is because of hype/bribe, and anything on the PS3 that gets high scores is deserved. Right?
