UK Retailers List Left 4 Dead For PS3, Valve In Denial

Kotaku: What on earth is going on with Left 4 Dead? Last week we had the Australian classifications board saying there was to be a Nintendo DS port (dismissed by Doug Lombardi as "Nonsense") and now.. this.

Two readers sent us links to two separate online retailers, both of whom list a PS3 version of Left 4 Dead as being available from November. November the 7th, according to Play.com.

This seemed to confirm the Official PlayStation mag story back in August that EA were working on a port of the Zombie survive-em-up.

It's coming right after Gears, so no xbox owner would care.

I agree, it is just a matter of when. I dunno, EA seems to have really stepped their game up, in terms of PS3 programming. Madden at 60FPS, Mirror's Edge lead platform, Dead Space lead platform (both of which received well) and on top of that, a closer business relationship with Sony. I won't be shocked if L4D came out as good as its 360 counterpart.

I've read the same thing in plenty of spaces (no pun intended). The problem is this is Valve we are talking about. Sure other studios in EA have begun to figure out the PS3 architecture, but Valve seem thrilled to sit back on their fat rumps and just spit out stuff that will only run on PCs and 360s.

They didn't have anything to do with the Half-Life port and have shown little to no initiative to learn the PS3 hardware. They'll regret it eventually. EA has already said that they make more revenue on the PS3.

but i honestly don't care if this game makes it to the PS3 or not. The only game i want on the PS3 from x360 is Alan wake as that is my type of game. Actually add KI3 as well.

I thought maybe it was just me, but I've yet to be impressed by any of the screenshots. The textures looked non-existent and the characters seemed like they were roughly all the same shape/size. Made me wonder if they really did play differently or did they just change the "skins".

The premise does sound cool, (not necessarily the zombie part, I've played enough of those) how you have to team up to survive wave after wave of bad guys. Admittedly, I wouldn't be buying this game if it was coming to the PS3, but I would've borrowed it from my buddy's Blockbuster just to check it out.

IMO This game looks average at best, and I am a PS3 owner and I personally dont mind if it doesnt come to the PS3; im just saying what I think about the game.

Although I agree with you on the Gears 2 > L4D statement.

I'm definitely a PS3 owner but I think this game is cool. Obviously the graphics aren't KZ2 or GeOW2 or anything but the premise and what you do is cool. All in all graphics seem okay but the gameplay actually looks fun in my opinion. I'm hoping when my brother gets back from school he will have this and me, him, and my little brother can play. I believe that is the point of it, so you get together whether online of off, to play with friends or family.

Well this being from Kotaku already shows very little credit only they would post this crap they have the credibility of Mike Patcher and Bruce on games even if this even comes to the PS3 it won't be for another year and we all know Gabe is a lazy fat fvck and would probably dummy down the PS3 version anyway.

In my opinion it's so visible that they used the same engine that they used to build HL2 with. Not that there is anything wrong with that but I don't like how the characters move around...like they have a stick up their @ss.

Im actually looking forward to this more than gears 2 (even though I thoroughly enjoyed Gears 1. I just wish Left for Dead included dis-memberment!!! As for R2... the 8 player co-op should be great but R1 wasn't really that great at all, especially if you grew up playing games like half life - I dont see it as a ps3 vs 360 thing either but Resistance never raised the bar on anything. Additionally you can't really compare R2 with Gears. They are entirely different games.
