Molyneux: 'Fable II has gone gold!'

VideoGamer.com has just got off the phone with Peter Molyneux, who told them that the hotly anticipated upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive, out on October 24, went gold as of 7pm last night, and has been released for manufacturing.

And now, in celebration of that fact, the Fable II development team is tonight heading straight to the pub.

When asked if Fable 2 was finished Molyneux said: "It is as of 7pm last night. We are now officially gold. It's released to manufacturing. Fable is absolutely finished and done and dusted.

"There's a lot of people here who are going to want to celebrate. And I'll be honest with you, the reason I have to go at six is because we're all off down the pub."

1.4 - Why?

Why do people feel the need to point out that a game is going to the PC as well?

Yes, I get it the PC has a version of the game as well! But I personally (and probably alot of others) don't like playing games on the PC! Too much stuff to worry about. Is my system powerful enough? Do I feel like waiting for an install? Then you have to configure the controls and such! Too much to deal with.

I like to be able to buy a game, take it home, put it in, and play it on a console it was already optimized for, without having to deal with all that sh*t.

You can try to sell people on the PC thing, but the fact remains... the average person buys a PC for about $600-$700. Those PC's usually don't have the best tech installed! They usually want to play new games. In order to achieve the quality you would receive from a 360 or Ps3... you would have to upgrade!

If you upgrade, you might as well go with a graphics card that will last for a while, meaning you would spend $300-$600. Might as well upgrade the sound as well $100-$300. You know you will need more RAM while you're at it $100-$300. And the overall total so far is $1900... and you haven't even bought a game or external speakers or a better screen(widescreen) for gaming! Not to mention, you will need to upgrade in a little while in order to keep up with the new tech.

With my way, I already have a large screen, nice sound system, then all I have to do is buy a console for $200-$500 (360 or Ps3). All I have to do after that is buy games and extra peripherals if I want. And the best thing about it is, That purchase I made for a console will last a few years. Meaning I don't have to worry about if a game will be compatible with my system!

They port games to the PC for people who are too stubborn to realize it saves you money to buy a console to play games on!

Oh yeah... Dark-SilV... Fable 2 is going on PC yes. But you are still supporting MS because you have windows and F2 is a MS product! I don't know if you thought that by buying it for PC you were somehow hurting them or something.

Keep this in mind. The big 3 are all supporting 2 consoles (Sony has 3). Nintendo has Wii and DS. Sony has Ps3, Psp, and Ps2, and MS has X360 and Games for Windows!

I was looking at monster hunter3 screenshots and it almost looks better than fable2. I know graphics are not everything but what's the point of spending $400 on a nextgen system to get lastgen graphics. Let's hope for a better game than the 1st one

Really. Must be a PS3 owner saying this.

Fable 2 isn't confirmed for PC period. The fact that Fable 1 was on PC, doesn't say anything. Have you ever thought that Microsoft might have interested PC gamers with Fable 1, Halo and Gears of War in the games and then with the follow ups (Halo 3, Fable 2, Gears 2) will keep stuff exclusive on the 360 so PC gamers will step in on the 360 just because they want to play those games?

Furthermore, a real gamer would like to play new stuff. Gears 1 when it came out, not a year later on the PC.

Strange these kind of comments keep popping up at 360 games. I guess its PS3 fans doing damage control over having lack of these games/genres on their PS3. We know, the PS3 has been kicked by the 360 RPG king of consoles. It must hurt.

1-Far Cry 2 (21 Oct).
2-Fable 2 (21 Oct).
3-Fallout 3 (28 Oct).
4-Gears of War 2 (7 Nov).
5-Left 4 Dead (17 Nov).

so far I've saved money enough for 1 game, as my calculations go, I'll be able 2 get all those games the day they launch, good luck everyone, and try 2 save as much as u can so u can get the games u want but the problem is having so many great games will make me dizzy of which should I play 1st.

I just bought Pure and Soul Calibur so these 5 games should keep me busy for the rest of this year. I might check out Race Pro when it comes out. Fallout 3 looks fantastic but will probably pick it up early next year. Just to many games. Plus I still play a lot of Halo 3 online. :)
