1 - Well, yeah...
But that's not really a fair statement. Because Guitar Hero comes out with like a bazillion SKUs, it's been around for a longer time, and it's a lot less expensive so it's an easier purchase for casuals. Not to mention that GH3 had a MUCH better offering on Wii (which became its #1 bestselling platform) than Rock Band.

But I'll be interested to see how World Tour sells in comparison to Rock Band 2.

when i saw that video that it had the drummer from chilli peppers' saying that it was an exact replica of how he would play the drums got me very interested.. if it's true then it beats rock band in my books..

Rock Band never came to Europe (or is just available now in september or something), this at least made me hate Rock Band, and I will not touch it. MTV Games can blame them selves for promising and then not delivering.

I and many with me are waiting for GH WT.

Anyway, drums and guitar are much better in GHWT.

There is 1 version of Rock band on 3 systems. There are like 5 guitar hero games on everything from the DS, ps2, wii, 360 and the ps3.

2 - Well you gotta admit.
You can't get your finger-burning rush from Rock Band. You need a good ol' TTFATF Expert Level to really feel the rush and Guitar Hero has proven itself as the hardcore guitar game.

nah i dont think thats the deal at all remember The Eu version of rockband was never released well i never saw it, i pre orderd mine and it never came to the shops... and that was back in April lol

I suppose they do suck if you prefer the cheap feel of a Guitar Hero guitar. I'm a GH fan turned Rock Band lover and can say that both GH and RB's guitars have pros and cons. In the end, the only thing that matters is what game suits you better. I personally have more fun playing RB with my friends. It's too little too late for GH (for me). RB is something Harmonix wanted to do and the reason why they parted ways with Activision, who were not interested in the concept until they saw the success of RB. Now they're just following suit. Not to mention that Harmonix has much better DLC for their game, and a library of over 500 songs between just two games is impressive. It seemed like Activision didn't try as hard to deliver DLC for GH3. Perhaps that will change for GHWT. Regardless, I've already converted over to RB.

How does one plastic guitar feel more expensive than another?

I prefer GH simpliy because I played it first and am accustomed to how the buttons are 'clickier' for lack of a better word...

Like I said, both guitars have pros and cons. It took me a while to get used to RB's guitar after playing GH for so long.

And to answer your question, 4.2, GH's guitar feels hollow, whereas RB's is heavier and feels more durable/solid.

the last couple of GH games were not good, they focus more on difficulty than songs that feel like your playing them, the note charts just suck. Rock band on the other hand is a whole lot of fun to play, Rock Band makes you feel more like a rock star, GH these days just feels like a video game (which it is, they both are, but you know what I mean).

I have no idea what you're trying to say. You say GH focuses on difficulty and it suffers because of it. RB has more of a real guitar feel and is, from your implication, easier...

So, what you're saying is playing a guitar in real life must be really easy, because if it weren't incredibly easy, then wouldn't GH have that in common with a real guitar?

Am I right? At least that's the way it sounds...

I personally like guitar hero better simply because I don't play any other plastic instruments other than the guitar. I'm used to the interface of guitar and accustomed to the design of everything and I'm satisfied with it.

May consider purchasing standalone rockbands seeing as they will be compatible with my guitar. It might have been a different story if rockband had introduced earlier than it did. Especially now that the Rockband 2 have some difficult tracks that can compare to Guitar hero.

Though if Guitar Hero does flop I will most likely end up purchasing rockband 2. Though its pretty hard to screw up a music game as long as you've got a decent track list, and I believe Neversoft has achieved a great one.

Rockband in the EU has just released in UK last week and is gradually rolling out across the rest of Europe over the next few weeks - so yeah I would expect Guitar Hero to win as RB has only been available in NA.

Good old PR spin - give us figures for NA only and you'll find it's a different story.

Perhaps if EA actually launched the game, instead of doing stupid exclusivity agreements they would sell more.

I think GH lost the plot on GHIII, so as a European I really want to try Rock Band.

However considering Rock Band for PS3 is STILL not out in Europe, it's crazy that the US is already on to Rock Band 2.

Still... 4-5 month delay from the UK launch of the 360 version and a year delay compared to the US isn't really on...

They forgot to say that Rock Band's download songs outsold Guitar hero's downloads by more than 10 million songs even though GH out sold RB by 6:1, maybe if you remove the "you have to buy the whole pack" crap you digital sales would go up.
