Free 1600 Microsoft point card with Xbox360 purchase.

It's time to page through the weekly retail adds to uncover a few special Xbox 360 deals. And just in case you forgot, all Xbox 360 consoles have seen a price cut where Arcades are $199, 60GB Pros are $299 and 120GB Elites are $399. If you're going to take advantage of the new price cut, we advise heading over to Circuit City where they'll toss in a free 1600 Microsoft point card with any console purchase.

Get a Pro or Elite...

...and use those 1600 points to get Braid and Assault Heroes.

Good start.

3.1 - I do not necessarily..
think this sale is all about trying to sell a console..or in this instance, an xbox. Stores do this all the time to draw you to their store, and to get you to associate their store with always offering you the better deal and the better price. Look at all the pre-order incentives that stores give you for games to try and lure you to their store. Frequently you will find that Best buy will sell you the 1600 point card for $5 just for purchasing a game at their store. The new price cuts have not been in effect long enough to say that extra measures are need by a store in order to push console sales.

you should be happy you'll be able to get a 360 for cheap if you don't have one yet. Instead of complaining. I just don't get fanboys; you guys are so irrational.

Are they really having that hard of a time selling the console? There has been gift cards, point cards, games, and other incentives every single week this entire year it seems like. Isn't amazon throwing in a 60$ card?

but I'd rather have the $60 than some number of arbitrary "points".

5 - FUNNY...
It's funny ... when Sony offers a PS3 with a bravia or sells a PS3 pack with a game (Motorsotrm, MGS4, etc) it's a good deal. Then even had a pack with Prologue and the 40gb PS3, where the game was free.

When Microsoft offers 1600 points with a console, or other deal, then they are desperate.

JUST LOL (how the minds of fanboys work, actually how they don't work).

@thehitman

That's the lame excuse you have for one company doing good business with bundles and other company's is desperate when doing bundles. Are you serious?

Tell me something, when Sony was offering PS3 (that cost at the time 600$) for free with Bravia's, was Sony doing good business or where they being desperate? When Sony offered Propogue for free with the 40gb PS3, was it good business or where they desperate?
When Sony decreased the price by 200$ in a couple of months, where they doing good business or being desperate? When Sony droped the PS3 to 400$ and made game bundles at the time, where they doing good business or being desperate? I'm really confused.

This thread just points out that fanboys are completely blind...

I think considering the price of entry was a $2500 TV... that's more icing on the TV than pushing ps3 volume...

I usually stay out of these little squabbles but hitman, that was absolutely ridiculous reasoning. Why would people be complaining about getting extra stuff?

Anyone can see that the recent pricedrops (though part of the usual hardware strategy) are probably in direct response to the strong upsurge of PS3 sales. Though unlike some, I don't see it as a desperate move, just good business sense. Will the 360 sales spike in relation to this pricedrop, probably? So why are we (as consumers) acting like every pricedrop or extra incentives to buy a console is a bad thing?

"Sony didnt drop their price of the ps3 @ the same time..."

Yeah they just dropped the price of the PS3. In japan they dropped even before it came out. In the U.S. 6 months after it came out. 3 months in Europe. $100 price drop after almost 3 years in the market is not as desperate as what Sony did.

I don't think it's desperation, mainly because M$ has no reason to be desperate. ($ added so you don't forget that they are money-hungry pigs) I don't think anyone is doing poorly this time around but I do think that they are getting a little nervous. Being behind for an entire year is the beginnings of a trend. Especially when you were ahead (not considering Nintendo) the entire time before it. Something is making people buy more PS3s then 360 and they are taking notice to that. I think it is reaction, but not desperation. Desperation was Gamecube for $99 when it wasn't even very old. Personally, I hope the PS3 wins out because I prefer the way they operate, but I'm not gonna sit here and act the part of the Fanboy because I own a PS3.
