20GB Xbox 360 Price Dropped by an Additional $40

If you're looking to save a little extra green and willing to sacrifice some hard drive space, Best Buy now has the 20GB model listed at $259.99. Note that this now makes the launched 360 SKU a mere $10 more expensive than the Wii. It remains to be seen if any other retail chains will follow suit, but they have to get rid of that 20 gig stock somehow! Better pick yours up before they disappear for good.

1 - I would suggest to pass these up...
These are the rrod headaches. no sale.

All 3 of my rrods were 20 gig out of 2 xboxes.
have not had one problem with the 120 gig.

I am with you on this. I have had mine a little less longer than you, but I have never experienced any problems...the same goes for the other 3 people I know with older 360 models, no problems for them either.

EDIT: How can someone possibly disagree with a personal observation? I take you must know the people and myself to come to this conclusion?

1.4 - These models should have the epoxy added as well as an extra heat sink
so chances of RROD is reduced but not eliminated.

@1.1 Your unit probably doesn't have the epoxy or extra heat sink if you purchased it Oct. 2k6. If I were you I'd hope for RROD so that I could get a replacement unit from MS with those items added before the RROD warranty expires.

Well it works fine.
I play it many hours (probably too many) hours a week and enjoy the hell out of it.

In my opinion MS was very fair in extending the warranty so why would I go out of my way to screw them? Sorry I'm not the type of person to take advantage of them.

If it breaks they will honor the warranty, if it's out of warranty I'll just go get another one.
God knows I've played the thing enough to wear it out so it would be time for a new one anyway.

Some have arcades, some have premiums and some have Elites.

People disagree with personal opinions all the time, especially if they've had a dissimilar experience.

I never use the disagree button, but I will agree without commenting.

I actually like this move to drop the price, but I wouldn't have stopped there, I'd have made it equal to the Wii price to guarantee some wishy washer consumer sales.

unlike you mike I know the xbox has problems and i voice them...No thanks on that ps3..I will wait until they fix those niggling little problems like rockstar and guitar hero compatibility...better psn...those 3 xboxes were free by the way....as usual with the dumb comments. That's the first time you ever said something real and negative about the 360. And i've seen your posts before you would deny about the RRoD for the longest time. And free 360s I guess your payed by Microsoft. And what you mean Guitar Hero you can buy a PS2 adapter. I have been playing PS3 games on a PS2 controller for the longest time. Better PSN? You don't know anything. Yea there not everyone has headset, but that's about it. What you want in a PSN? It has the exclusive psn games, most 1st party games run on dedicated servers no lag. I'm assuming you would play the multiplatform games on the 360 anyway, so you can't really say anything about the online 1st party games on PS3 because they are exclusive.

Not bad all even though for 50 bucks more you an get an arcade with 60 gig hdd I believe. Still this is cheap and something I wouldn't pass up if I didn't own a 360 already.

I think they will see a decent boost off of this, and considering the 360's library, it is really a great deal. What is hilarious though, is that the Wii is now going for as much, and at some places even more than the 360, lol.

Lots of great titles on the console already and some great games out this winter, bargain.

Left 4 Dead is the game for me this winter on any console. 4 player co-op super zombie game, cool.

I personally don't buy new from GameStop but I will print out that page and get Circuit City's 110% price match guarantee and use my Circuit City gamer card to save an addition 10%

Both should put it around $48.00
