GTA IV DLC on track for November

Sources close to Rockstar North have told Eurogamer that downloadable Grand Theft Auto IV content is on track for a late November release.

Parent company Take-Two previously changed the date from autumn to some time between November 2008 and January 2009 - leaving our stockings at risk of being empty.

The content, which is "absolutely exclusive" to Xbox 360, will be made up of at least two episodes around 10 hours in length, complete with extra unlockable Achievements. Speculation on what form it will take has ranged from additional cities to developed side-missions with brand new stories to unravel. There's been no mention of what all this will cost.

Cost and DL size are going to be the make-or-break aspects of the added content. If each "episode" takes up 5 GBs and costs $10, I would have to pass. Like others have said below, there are other great games coming out at the end of this year that make GTA IV DLC a non-essential purchase, even for gamers that really liked the game, such as myself.

DLC didn't matter as soon as we found that it did not increase sales for the 360. Nobody is going to buy a 360 for a GTA4 DLC when it comes November.

But for some people, that was one less reason to get a PS3. Not all, just some. Which was enough to split the market for sales of the game and give no one the edge at the time.

i know i have 8 people in my friends list that still play it on live. are waiting for the DLC. so it just might be just you. and the sonyfan run damage control.

90% of the people that own it, won`t buy it/ don`t care about it.

But there is a small group of people that will. MSFT won`t make their $$$ back when it`s all said and done though, I can tell you that.

I though the DLC was for 2009.

so you guess 90% of people won't buy the DLC. again do you know 90% of people that brought this game? no. was there a poll on a site or something that had people vote on if they would or wouldn't buy the DLC? no. so by guessing you think you are right. ok let me try it out

4 - November couldnt be a worse month for the dlc to come out
But it doesn't matter to me. I too have traded this game in for Mercs 2, and I must say that GTA4 is the prettier of the two, but Mercs is plain ol just more fun.

That's cool, I was waiting for the DLC, I just hope it doesn't cost too much. It should be a good purchase if the rumours are true, for me though an extra story would be good as well but a new area would be awesome.

8 - Nov. is bad for this
With Gears of war coming out Nov. 7th sounds like bad news for GTA most of the people waiting on that game will probably not even think about GTA anymore I personally wont be even getting the DLC even if it gears wasn't coming out... Although no one really knows what the DLC will be you hear 15 hours now they say 2 episodes at 10hrs is that 10 hrs ea. or total and if the price is 1600 M$ points (or what ever $20 is). Is that for both episodes or is that for 1 and another 1600 points for the other, I'm going with the second one because 50 mil is allot of money to recover back from a game that's been out since April and 360s biggest game will be released that same month.
