Kicking Zombie Ass In 360 Left 4 Dead, Why No PS3 Version

One of my most anticipated games for this year is Left 4 Dead, Valve's Zombie Apocalypse game that's all about cooperative play. The thing is I haven't been able to try, and until this week no one has, is the Xbox 360 version of the game.

I was worries that a Valve game built to be a PC experience would lose some of its luster when it hit the Xbox 360. So I sat down yesterday to play through one of the game's 20 or so maps.

Because Gabe Newell does'nt want to.Deal with it.PS3 owners should focus on getting the next Half Life or something.By the end of this year,PS3/360 owners will be too broke to get ports and multiplats.

Didn't he say the PlayStation 3 is a waste of time and will have no long term benefits programming for that platform? At the same time the better quality games are running on the PlayStation 3 platform. I think Gabe Newell is going to eat his words if true.

I understand having an opinion if you don't represent a whole company, but he does. For that fact only Gabe will be eyed a lot closer than someone like me. It's like the head of a car company saying we don't like non-heterosexual. Whether you think so or not when representing a company somethings you have to keep quiet about. If you don't like the PlayStation 3 architecture just say for the moment we're focusing on the Microsoft platforms.

Gabe just does not like the PS3 architecture.It has nothing to do with inferiority or anything like that.He just hates multi-threading,developing for the 360,Wii,and PS3.Newell develops for PC because its easy for him.

On the other hand,Will Wright,John Carmack,and Sid Meier are giving the consoles a chance.Wright likes the Wii,Carmack likes Blu Ray,and Sid Meier likes developing for the consoles because he does not have to worry about testing out different PCs.

It seems to me that developers like Gabe Newell are making excuses while Carmack,Meier,and Wright are high profile programmers that earn my respect and my gaming dollars.

Im gonna go with.. They are lazy.. They are used to PC and 360 and they dont feel like taking the time to Dev for PS3.. The superior hardware of the PS3 scares them.. I mean seriously, The videos that have been coming out.. Yes it looks like it could be fun..but Graphically it looks like PS2 game..

But Im sticking by the laziness comment.. Look at the Half Life 2 port they did.. They just threw it together.. Put no time in it to give Ps3 owners an equal game..

...because when Gabe was wobbling through E3 several years back one of the lovely Sony sales ladies said no to reenacting the scene from Return of the Jedi where Princess Lea was dressed in a gold bikini being ogled by Jabba the Hutt.

From what I hear she said no to wanting to see Gabe in a gold bikini. He got so offended that he proclaimed the PS3 dead.

4.3 - The PS3 is a waste of time!

Gabe said that the code for PS3 games is unusable anywhere else. I've heard nothing to the contrary from anyone else. Hence a waste of time. PS3 was designed as a Blu-ray player first, gaming machine second. Hence the delays on games and services that we have seen since it launched. @ Thom. That's funny coming from one of the biggest fanbois on this site.

@4.3. jus mindless stuff you spurted out there. ps2 was hard to programme for. its jus the way sony do there machines. there hard to programme for but will produce the better games in the long run. your point sayin it was designed firstly as a blu ray player and tryin to make it sound inferior to the other console on the market is made invalid but the game that is cod4. that game is the best on the 360 and runs the same on both consoles. so judgin by that alone the consoles are equal. now take in to account that the 360 is easier to programme for and easier to get the potential out of. so thatll mean that the 360 is already nearing its potential and the harder to programme console, the ps3, still as lot of potential. expect a year on year improvement on the ps3 on the quality of games.

Resident evil 5 will be the biggest selling version ever made. That'll be proven soon enough, and quite frankly it's the only zombie type game i want to play.

I've always had a fondness for hl1 and to some extent hl2.

But i never felt the same magic after that.

For me Gabe is abit of an idiot for saying what he said about ps3, but he's always been that way. Said the same thing about nvidia's fx range(was being outperformed by ati by a huge margin at that time. and he was correct.

Sooner or later though, he'll change his ways, he'll have to.

Why not on the PS3? Resistance 2, Socom, Killzone 2...maybe during summer 2009they will port it but right now it doesn't stand a chance on the PS3...even if it's released I won't be getting it, the concept is boring and brainless.

Exclusive games in top 20s:
XBox 360 - 4, 2 on disc
PS3 - 5, 5 on disc

While the 360 may have more higher rated games, most of them are on other platforms or are arcade downloads. The only true exclusives in the 360s list at the moment are Forza 2 and Halo 3 (which will come to PC).

I'd like you to spin that though, like you're trying the ol' PS3 has no games argument.

Only an idiot or a fanboy like yourself would let the numbers speak for themselves. What score a critic that may or may not be legit does not change the quality of a game. If everyone went by that list like you do, we would assume that Bioshock is a higher quality game than Metal Gear Solid 4. However, if you would have actually played both, you would realize the production values on MGS4 are through the roof, creating a higher quality game.

Sorry, but the numbers on that list are made entirely out of opinions. Reviews are opinions, So why did you say let the numbers speak if all they are is opinions and you hate opinions so much? If we lived in a society without opinions we would live in a world like the book '1984'. Is that what you want? Probably.

First, Valve had nothing to do with the PS3 version. EA ported so Valve wasted nothing. Second, it sold poorly because the port was so bad and full of glitches and bugs. If Valve actually put some effort into it, it might have sold well. Why do you think the 30 version is number 3 for 360 on that list and number 7 for PS3?

But now they've dug themselves a hole. When they realize that they have to dev for the PS3, they are screwed because I know many, many PS3 owners are not going to by their products.

Graphics are bad, and the game will flop anyway so why whould anyone want it on the PS3. Even if it doesn't flop, it will be on PC and I am sure even the crapiest computers can handle this game so no need for it to come to the PS3.

10 - My Mind on my Money and my Money on my Time

though the "CELL" spec wise its a pretty powerful cpu. This generation the 3rd party developers cringe when they make games for POS3. And thats because it takes up more time which becomes more costly. This is the arrogance of SONY. They didnt care about the developers input or anything else when they were developing the cell. The Cell architecture to put it mildly is simply back-asswards
when it comes to developing and coding too. when your out to be a succesful game developer time is everything.

3rd Party developers dont have the luxury of taking like 10 years to make games like: Konami, Sony studios, Guriella studios and Insomniac studios. these studios alone sony dumps alot of money and resources into so they can take up to 5 to 10 years to bring out their games.

Resistance 2
LBP
SOCOM: Confrontation(could be cheaper not really sure the price of this one for the PSN)
Fallout 3
Mirrors Edge
Death Space
Prince of Persia
Valkyria Chronicles

All of those games are better than this one, so ill be wasting:
60$ x 8 = 480$

And im leaving behind games that look more interesting like:
Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
Eternal Sonata(The real game, not the beta released a year ago)
Rise of the Argonauts
Far Cry 2
Call Of Duty 5
WipEout HD

Heck even if i wanted to look at it (for PC of course, the real version) they´re just too many better games than this one.I´m not made of money, even if i dont buy anything on the second list i still be expending 480$ on the first list to look at anything else.
