Yes or No to Halo 4?

From gameplayer: With recent rumors strongly suggesting that Gearbox will be continuing the Halo series by developing number 4, it begs the question, do we really need a fourth Halo game?

With Halo 3 bringing the trilogy to a nice, neat close, and developer Bungie Studios released from under Microsoft's wing, Master Chief (the most bankable star of this generation) is still stuck in limbo.

But will this fourth sequel actually happen? Can it happen, Should it happen? We put the question to four of our best…

I'm a fan of the Halo series....but I don't think there should be a Halo 4 yet.

Give us 'Halo Online' instead. Base it entirely on Online gaming. Add all the maps from the first 3 games, plus a load of new maps and I'd be sold.

The MP is where the game shines anyway!

Halo 3 will have a sequel anyway, and it's not your to decide.

That said, Resistance is a crapy game, it was release at a time when the PS3 had no games (ok had 1---> Motorstorm).
Almost any FPS is better than this crap.

i am a ps3 fan, but seriously i dont know what games are coming out for xbox accept for gears 2 and halo, please can somone write a quick list of the line up for this and beginning of nxt year. Who ever says that the games coming out for the ps3 arnt awsome and innovative are either blind, or are just jelious, the line up for ps3 is awsome, i.e. killzone 2, lttle big planet, home, moterstorm 2, heavy rain, resistence 2, fat princess, M.A.G, Geterway, Afrika and all the 3rd party games that ps3 and xbox are getting and if thats not a strong line up, i dont know what is, disagree if u want, but ur just jealous, if somone replys with a list of as many exclusives as the ps3, i will happily say i was wrong.

I am a fan of Halo, I'd love another despite what everyone keeps saying. I loved all the Halo games, they are just fun to play. I don't see people complaining about mario, zelda, final fantasy, etc. People love those franchises so why should the companies stop making them?

Well I would say yes for 360 owners.. They dont have any other good games coming out, except for Gears 2 and the Ten disk FF..

But for me No.. Its the most over rated franchise ever

Because his a PS3 fan and knows well how it is to have a console that has no good games(PS3).. Plus most PS3 fans dont know what good games are.. Look at them hyping up an ELEMENTARY school girl game like Little Big Planet.. A 2nd life rip off in Home.. a 3 hour game in Heavenly Sword.. A so called next gen game Motorstorm that had no splitscreen. A typical FPS in Resistance 1&2 and KZ2.. I see nothing special about those shooters..I won't even talk about Lair.. Did anybody even play that game? The only thing worth playing OOPSS i meant watching on the PS3 is MGS4!

If you are a 360 hater, that's fine, but don't spread lies man. Only two games to look forward to? REALLY? Maybe in your world, but I don't think 360 gamers are going to be hurting for games for the rest of the year, or ever for that matter.

I don't need to run off a list of games, but seriously, the 360 has a well rounded lineup on offer for the rest of 08. Sure, there are 3rd party games that both consoles will have, but there are a few high profile 1st party games in the pipe, not to mention all of the RPG choices, with some being exclusive or timed exclusive. PS3 has some good games coming, and so does the 360. Its all about choice and what you like. But don't confuse choice or opinion with facts, which is the road you seemed to turn down there.

No let it die. But then again i say that for MGS and i'll say the same for God of War 3 after it's done. It seems like the industry doesn't know how to just let a franchise finish. I know they make dollar over fist with these games but from my point of view just let them finish for once. I would just like to see more quality new IP's introduced instead of the same familiar faces over and over. Emphasis on the "quality" part of what i just said. It's why i'm trying to support so many newer IP's this gen. I hope my fellow gamers will maybe do the same when they get tired of seeing the same franchises pelted with sequels and spinoffs.

Dude, ppl are obviously still waiting to play the next Halo, heck they havent got enuf of it this gen, what with the excellent MP experience and all. Unlucky for me, I used to do gaming on a pc (a bad one) up until 2006 so I missed out on lets say: n64, ps1, dreamcast, ps2, xbox, etc due to parents who were not so keen on getting me these stuff. Now that I'm working, I can afford to get consoles/pcs or whatever. I got the 360 in 2006 due to its library of games and of course because I got it slightly cheaper than the market price. Only I know how much joy it has brought into my hectic life. You should be lucky that such games are available for you to play and that quality games still keep coming on a system of your choice.

i say yes, c'mon zelda has been going on for years, metroid, mario, tetris, and the metal gear series all those games have been going on for a long time and why not halo? master chief is my hero i look up to him even though hes fiction i still look up to him, so why not a halo 4? dont you wanna know how the spartan 3's get thier name or how john 117 got to be the most feared soldier throughout the universe? i do, i want to know for damn sure

I say yes, we will see a Halo 4, but does it need to include Master Chief?

Unbeknownst to many Halo haters, the Halo Universe is surprisingly deep, with many other possible story arcs the game could take advantage from. Hopefully the next iteration will take advantage of this well crafted universe.

PS never was 'about RPGs', people keep saying this now because PS3 has way less RPGs than 360 and Wii.

The reality was PS was about a balance, you can find thinks from every genre in a pretty generous quantity and, some times, quality too.

This is obvious because PS2 and PS1 software sales wasn't localized as Xbox and 360 have been (still is). While on PS2 you could see GTA selling millions, you have tons of games, from various genres, doing greatly. On Xbox and still on 360 (and PS3 too) the selling is much more localized, you have a usual genre for a usual region as top seller.

360 and PS3 aren't on problem, both are young, they'll need like more 3 years AFTER hit mass market to have distributed sells (and if you look a bit deeper, you'll see much of the success of PS2 come from there, or at least, it sinalized much of the PS2 success, since you need widespread base).

Initially PS3, thanks to PS2, had much more potential than 360 to reach that widespread market, but now, most games are multiplat, Sony has an advantage on exclusives on some genres thanks to first party (SotC, GoW), but it's not like MS can't react of there isn't a good multiplat to fill the position.

They should have take the clue from the second one (sell great, but was worst than the first) and had just released Halo 3 when they had many new thinks to add, not an HD version of the same. Launch a Halo 4 just to fill in the gap is just as crap.

But no one will ever say 'no' to this money making deal... At least not any company. Gamers? I don't think they can say no as of now, but another more of the same? Better to wait and see.

Hell, the fact that Bungie itself is saturated with Halo should tell you much.

do you even use your eyes Killzone 2 blows every other FPS out of the field including R2, not staying R2 sucks but Killzone 2 is another league.
and what the PS3 has is verity not all the same crap over and over and over again FPS after FPS and another Shooter their all hardcore games
only good games for the 360 are out and the only good thing coming for it are their sequels (gears of war-actual store was F'ing short not that deep- , bioshock , halo 3)

MGS is above you IQ level so you just stare at the TV like a monkey and forget that its a game not a CG movie from how good it looks

stop kidding your self, I have both consoles but Xbox didnt get any good games since halo 3-again only for multiplayer)

it would be nice if a 360 story could be commented on without all the obvious bias that is always displayed. How many god damn times do i have to see a 360 story full of comments on killzone 2......

i hope it will be a good game for those that own a ps3 i have no problem saying that but why post it in the 360 stories all the time.

Look, at the end of the game Chief and Cortana were drifting towards that unknown planet.I would hope Chief would be involved in the next game.but, the artstyle needs to change.drastically. The purple etc. Needs to stop.If they say that planet has a new enemy,new technology etc.that would be great.I like the gritty look of Killzone 2.Bungie let me down with the graphics of H3.i mean.the 360 is no slouch,it could pull of the visuals of KZ2. .But. .I think that wont be possible with a single dvd.I may be wrong though.if H4 released,different artstyle,the grittiness of real war.A new enemy,Chief fighting alongside maybe a new race.I think we got ourselves a winner.

Lets just embrace it and wish gearbox well.......although they will moist defiantly be castrated if they tarnish the image of halo. Its allot of pressure on them so I'm thinking there going to take there time and produce a quality or Superior product.

I'm looking foreword to halo 4 (not so much with "halo wars") and would rather see the original FPS gameplay return. Lets not forget Gearbox has some great titles under there belts with Brothers in Arms,Counter-Strike Half-Life ports and expansions. Its going to be interesting how they can create the halo experience without Bungie cooperatively helping with project this time around.
