it said that ps3 exclusives sell 40% better... so if they do a good job they'll get their money back...

Look at mgs4.. it's well on it's way to 4 mil if is not there already..

If it's a good it will sell.. exclusive or not.. if is a sucky game exclusive or multiplatform won't sell well

R* already said the next one will be ps3 exclusive since they couldn't make the GTA they wanted this time around because of the 360.

the cost of making a big next-gen game are ENORMOUS and they needed to get that first game out the way to pave the way for what they really wanted to make. and because MS was generous enough to give them $50mil, they can now take a chance at making a big ps3 exclusive.

Let me see if i get this strait... they sell more GTA4 on the X360 then the PS3... and you guys are telling me that they will make GT5 exclusive to PS3.

Do you really think they will make it exclusive, knowing they sell more on the xbox then on the PS3? IF it would be exclusive, it would probably be more logical on the xbox then the PS3 (easier to program and sells more).

As for GTA4, waiting for the PC version (probably the best version), almost coming out :)

The game was gimped on the 360, and at that point in time, the install base difference was much larger. By the time something like GTA5 came to pass (assuming that IS what it would be), the PS3 would have surpassed the 360 in install base difference if the continued monthly sales favor the PS3 like they did with the July figures. This would mean that by that point, the PS3 would have to be heavily considered to get exclusives. Did we forget, also, how many consoles Metal Gear Solid 4 moved, and how many units MGS4 sold? And what was the unit difference on the PS3 and 360 versions of GTA4? (Should consider all the facts before trying to begin that "site is populated with the Sony Defense Force" argument.)

Couple that with the notion that it appears that Rockstar didn't like having their hands tied behind their backs from the whole Microsoft thing (my guess is give them what they paid for with the two exclusive DLC things and be done with their deal) and the gimping of GTA4 to accommodate the 360 version, and you might be looking at Rockstar wondering why they even went multiplatform to begin with for GTA4.

Of course, seeing as how they told us to expect GTA4 DLC for the PS3 and how they wanted the game to "last for years", that could be a possibility of what Q-Mann is telling us, as well (didn't Barrera mention that they build the game to last?). That seems like a better bet on than GTA5 and would also fit in with what I said above. Should cue the disagrees now, because I know I'll get them from even bringing it up (everyone who dares mention GTA4, DLC, and PS3 in the same sentence gets them because we're not supposed to believe that Rockstar never left that door open, for some reason).

Anyway, the Q-Mann is pretty good with these rumors, as there is usually some hard thing he heard in order to confirm that something is going on (hell, didn't he get the Bioshock PS3 port thing right?). This is not just some no name guy trying to get our hopes up here, we should be taking the Q-Mann's rumor reporting seriously.

Episodic content=/=DLC. The PS3 will get DLC, It just won't get some dumb story content that nobody wants because you don't really buy a GTA game for the story. The best thing about 4 was the story, and people are re-selling it in droves(Like 100 at my EB).

Yeah, actually, EC was what I was meaning. EC would have to be DOWNLOADED (meaning that it WOULD be DLC). I do equate the two together in some way.

But yeah, it was episodic content that I was talking about, and it is something that we should really consider at this point. I do keep thinking that:

- Rockstar never said they wouldn't make episodes for the PS3, and has even said that it was very likely and to expect such. They want the game to last for years, and it's hard to think that they would only extend the lifespan of the 360 version while ignoring the PS3 version, especially after all that help and support Sony was giving them on the PS3 version.
- This "exclusive" is from the same GTA4 team, so there is a clue.
- Rockstar has gotten a little bit upset at MS for all of this, I'm sure. Like I said, get it over with so your hands are no longer tied to one system.

Again, this is just another thought into what this secret exclusive could be, but my thinking is that episodic content is coming to the PS3 (I'll try to remember to use that phrase to talk about that possibility from here on out).

The Warriors was a great game, I can definitely see Max Payne 3 being a great game too, solely because of who's developing it. I believe it'll come out around the same time as the film, could be wrong on that one though...

As for the PS3 exclusive, whatever those guys bring out will have a lot of noise around it in the media (both good or bad). On top of this game being an exclusive it also allows R* North to get to grips with the PS3 a lot better, if they prefer it and feel they can get more out of it by producing exclusives then I wouldn't be at all surprised if they announce a GTA5 PS3 exclusive after this game goes out in a few years time.

Sony will help out in anyway they can to make this game a success, I'm not saying R* North aren't capable, but with Sony's backing the game could get a lot bigger than it would have been otherwise.

The film comes out in October which is a month and a half away. For a game that hasn't been offically revealed or announced, it may be difficult to put it out at the same time as the movie.

If they are doing another GTA game it won't be 5, it will be the name of a made up city 5 would be reserved for the nex gen consoles. I wouldn't be surprise if Rockstar comes up with something completely new. I mean after 7 games including the PSP ones, they may want to do something else.

Think of it this way: If Rockstar comes up with another game just as groundbreaking as GTA, then Sony will own part of the rights to that new franchise. From what Jack Trenton said Rockstar is working with the London Studio, which means Sony would probably own the IP.

If your Sony would you want a rehash of GTA or a new IP, that you and Rockstar can make a series out of. I vote for the ladder.

Sony scores exclusive Rockstar deal for PlayStation 3

Rockstar Games, the folks behind the Grand Theft Auto series, have announced to be working on its "next great franchise,” which will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 3 console. No details were offered on just what that franchise might be, though.

Sony says that the title being developed isn't L.A. Noire, another PlayStation 3 exclusive that Rockstar is expected to release sometime next year. On the official PlayStation blog, Director of Third Party Relations, Michael Shorrock, said:

"Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of CELL and Blu-ray disc and this deal lets them do just that.. This is really a win-win situation for both companies.
Exclusive game titles drive console sales and could help the PS3 in its struggle to rise from its third-place position among current-generation game consoles. But will Rockstar’s next big hit be released on time to make a difference? Unfortunately, we won't find out much more about this new title or when it will be released, as Sony was required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

3 - no GTA 4 sucks balls.

Its just too repetitive and boring. The only thing I ever found fun was going to the airport and hitting those jumps at the end of the run ways. free roam online was kind of fun. Its a 30 min game. A 30 min game for me. Why? Because after 30 min I just turn it off. It was a downgrade from San andreas, no planes, no going underwater, no customization with niko, besides some ghetto clothes. All GTA 4 did, was demonstrate how gta looks with HD graphics. Thats about it. No way in hell it ever deserved all 10s. Maybe 7s.

the game was worth a purchase for me...but definitely wasn't as good as Vice City and San Andreas...the biggest let down was the focus on realism...the realistic guns...the realistic driving (which simply made it boring)...it was nice to see an open city like that with current gen visuals...but I agree the game was a 8.5/10 at best for me...

it did too many things just like the PS2 games...and dropped features from SA...and didn't add anything where it needed it...anyone that says the combat is 'great' is an idiot...go play uncharted if you want an idea of how a third person action game should play...the lack of any fun side missions or anything remotely worthwhile absolutely gutted the overall game imo...same lame monotonous missions, with better story, does not the best game of all time make...

5.1 - yeah, I really dont know what went wrong with GTA 4.

It just wasn't very good. The combat overall was just horrid. When I bought GTA 4 on launch, I was really pumped ran home, played it for a good 3-4 hours. Was pretty happy overall. But after 3 days of playing it. I couldn't handle it anymore. Its just a really big bummer, that they took out so much content that was in San Andreas. Thats why I could care less that the 360 gets the exclusive DLC content. Who cares, the game is just boring. If they make a GTA 5, which I'm guessing they will. I'm going to have to rent it first. GTA 4 put a bad taste in my mouth.

It doesn't suck but it's not *utter perfection* either. I reached only as far as Mission 5 and just couldn't play the game anymore. I just found myself going back to Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Which reminds me...I want to attempt a karma run in Normal, now that I slaved through four modes of torture. :D

Finally a Rockstar game on the PS3 that isn't hamstrung by the 360 and it's last gen storage medium.

What the hell is wrong with these developers. Do they try and make DS and PSP versions the same? No. Do they try and make PS2 and ...wait, Microsoft doesn't have a console from last gen still around. Do they try and make PS2 and Wii versions exactly the same? No. Wii and PS3 and 360 versions the same? No. Then why the hell do they feel compelled to screw PS3 owners by limiting games due to the Xbox 360's out of date storage medium and lack of HDD across the board? Ridiculous.

I can't wait for these games to come out and maybe one more developer will get their head out of their ass and stop catering to last generation on the 360 and instead decide they are going to push the boundaries on the PS3. A camera that actually works, Youtube upload abilities, an HDD in every unit and an actual, excuse me, the only next gen removable storage medium.

Make Max Payne PS3 exclusive too.

XB is hindering this generation with last gen hardware and disc format. Its stopping multiplat games from progressing. Anyone who can't see that is blinded. Its like Corollas racing Jags, but because carollas can only fit a 6 cyclinder engine the Jags all have to race with a 6 too.

If anything make the PS3 version without compromises or thought of other consoles, release it, then dumb it down for XBox. Thats the only fair thing to do.

10 - you guys know they had to downgrade the resolution of gta4 on ps3 right ?

you guys expect them to suddenly be able to get better performance from ps3 ?
Even if they make a ps3 exclusive ( doubt it with 360 gta selling more ) it would be after gta dlc and l.a. Noir so what we looking at 2009/10 !

So you have no explanation why a game running at lower res on the PS3 looks better than the same game at a slightly higher res on the 360? No you don't idiot.

And here is the part where you really suck while being totally pwned. No game, multiplatform or not, looks as good as a game made specifically for the PS3. MGS4 and Uncharted own anything you can throw at them and they are not the only two nor are they the last. It is only going to get worse for that noisy, archaic, toaster oven, last gen hunk of junk called the 360.

16 - I've played both gta4 versions

xbox does look cartoony while ps3 looks more realistic to the
art design. Thats the first thing you notice. Ps3 sometimes slowup when
too much is happening. Xbox not so much slowdown but pop ups like crazy in your face!
ps3 rarely do you get the obsene pop up, its runs much more smoother.
essentially the same dvd game but its not the reason I bought a ps3 for. My ps3
deserves 50gb games that are not dumbed down for DVD. To make it worse gta4 needs great dlc
badly & the original gta fan got screwed at playstation homebase by rockstar to accomodate the xbox360
with the dlc.
Its like eating at mcdonalds your whole life & the guy who makes your special burger just right had went
across the street to burger king & gave out chicken nuggets, came back & told you that you couldn't
have chicken nuggets even though you've eaten there your whole life. Why? Because burger king can't
make thier own chicken nuggets.
PHuck this place I'm never ordering from you again unless you suck my phuckin ps3 off crackhead!

Sorry dudes, I just had a moment. Rockstar, Namco (ace combat), virtua fighter & Square enix can kiss my a$$!

GTA4 definitely needs a lesson on melee combat from naughtydog. Uncharted is f*cking awesome. Hell even the shooting such as headshots feel f*cking awesome. You have to try it to believe it.
