Henceforth now and forever more, all 360 fans who still talk about it coming to their system have no lives and should play their own games.

Poor Kojima...I can understand what he's talking about. The dude wants people to talk about the GAME...not the hardware! Granted, he wanted to make sure it was on the BEST hardware, but nevertheless it's the game that should be spoken about more than what it's on.

He's an artist and you can see that clearly. Let the man move on from this topic, and 360 fans need to just get a PS3 if they want to play it. Or not, and then just shut up please.

after reading the full interview, which is a good read, he seems very annoyed by the question will MGS4 ever come to 360! I just can feel it! that question is focused on 360 and not MGS4 which he already put a lot of effort in it and what the question wanted is if the game will come to 360! now with this conformation from Kojima san himself, I really hope that nobody else will ask such question or make rumors about it ever again!

btw, thank you Kojima san, MGS4 is awesome!! I'm on my 3rd run already but I love it for the diversity and currently playing unlike my 1st and 2nd run! really LOVE IT!! and for 360 only owners, that nailed it all and if you really want the game buy or borrow a PS3! you won't regret it, it's awesome!! seriously!

MGS4 is really a gaming achievement like no other and years ahead of it's time. It is such a powerful experience, rich and detailed and moving and quite unlike anything available. I have been through it 4 times already and discover new things every single time.

It amazes me that anyone could include so much in a game. It amazes me but having played Metal Gear titles for 20 years it doesn't surprise me. It is Metal Gear. I can go back through older games and still find things which I did not know or had not seen. Beating MGS3 was a tall order as that game is simply amazing but they did it.

MGS4 really is an opus and to those that have not experienced the grit, the valor, the determination, the heartbreaking moments, and the most thrilling exploits of the man that makes the impossible, possible, then you are missing quite simply the most phenomenal title, the most remarkable gaming experience ever crafted.

I think everyone should read that very carefully. This is the ignored part and it is pretty obvious what he is saying. If your system doesn't have a HDD and doesn't support my needing Bluray size storage then you are SOL.

If you wanna play Metal Gear Solid 4, get a PS3. If you wanna play Gears of War 2, get a 360, if you wanna play Smash bros. Brawl, Get a Wii. Console Exclusives are good for the industry.

Metal Gear Solid 4 and Versus XIII (and I'll explain that one below), as I've stated many Times will remain PS3 exclusives. They've been programmed and optimized to work specifically for that system. It's Not a simple multiplatform switch.

I know you may say "Versus XIII? But the main XIII game work on 360 so....." Yes. And Versus theoritically could, but I read an interview with Nomura; He has encouraged Programmers that it is fine to code with PS3 exclusivity.

You guys are forgetting that pretty much every mgs game has come to more than one platform. Who's to say further down the track that it wont be profitable for konami to dull the textures and sound a little and port it on to a few dvds. The core experience would still be there and im sure xbox only owners would lap it up.

You guys still seem to be in the dark over these agreements. The developers are not allowed to say if a game will go to another platform. And that means even if the media ask really really nicely. How many times have we seen it this gen already?

Im not saying that it will be ported but dont take this as the absolute and only truth.

On the other hand if no one seems to care with only the 360 user base screaming for things like Kingdom Hearts, Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, Xenogears and Dragon Quest. They'll be less likely to put them on the PS3 or at least go multi-platform. The playing field is different this gen Sony and MS are fighting for customers.

It's a sad truth from what I've seen and read. Sony isn't trying as hard to get deals with 3rd party developers as MS. The only way to get attention is say "WE WANT IT it please"

you have a good point over there but you are forgetting a very important part of MGS4 which has made your argument totally VOID! you do know that MGO is a part of MGS4, right? MGO is if I'm not mistaken, the only game that runs off PSN! can you see my point now? for me, this is the only reason/condition for Konami to stay exclusive to PS3 because M$ policy with games on 360 is unforgiving towards anything off-XBL! this is not the case for PSN and right now, Konami has the total control of MGS4 and MGO and all their contents! you need to play on Konami's own server, need Konami ID and need to pay for extra characters! plus, they can have any DLC without the fuss of going through PSN as everything is done on Konami's own site! see? these things possibly has something to do with maximizing their profit!

although sometimes they messed up with the gamers with server problems and login problems but I think it's still more profitable for them compared to putting it on PSN and needed to pay royalty or something for PSN service(I don't know about this, but it can't be free for the publishers part, right? PSN needs money to maintain running) plus having the total control for their own game! these things are simply impossible on 360 because of the XBL restriction! so, MGS4 is no ordinary game! it's an exclusive with a special treat from Sony for Konami! remember that Sony doesn't pay for exclusivity but this kind of deal is something else!

Your comment reminded me of an article from Kotaku a few days after FF XIII for the 360 was announced about Japanese 360 owners whining about Final Fantasy being exclusive to the PS3 in their region.

Up until that announcement, these people obviously didn't care about FF XIII coming to their console because they bought the 360 over the PS3. They did this knowing, at the time, that the game was an exclusive PS3 title worldwide.

No but we hear Mass Effect coming to the PS3 and Dead Rising coming to the PS3 and Gears of War 3 coming to the PS3 all the time. All of those titles are in the same publisher/developer situation that MGS is in. I've even seen some stick ME2 and Gears 3 in their lists of games.

Oh and lets not forget Bioshock, which I can remember the PS3 fanboys going "How dare you not want to have as many people play this game as possible" and all the "don't be greedy!".

lol, I know what you mean and the funny thing is it is only possible with the PlayStation 3 according to the developers/Sony. They even make fun of the XBOX 360 DVD disc in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. I think the only reason why this keeps coming up even after hearing it from the developers is because XBOX 360 is surviving because of brand multiplats/non-brand multiplats.

In general you'll hear a lot of XBOX 360 rumours usually have to do with games on rival platforms. It can be fanatics or just people who just want another reason not to buy a PlayStation 3, lol. Either way people don't like to admit they were converted to buying the rival console. I was once following Microsoft until Halo 3 turned me off and never looked back (bought a PlayStation 3).

the rumors abou ME, gears3 and DR coming to PS3 is not due to anything elses but for the devs/publishers of those games! Bioware was bought by EA and it's inevitable given how EA stands regarding exclusivity but if Bioware(ME dev, right?) can pull some 'Kojima', maybe ME will not be on PS3 afterall! DR is Capcom's and they are worst than EA in terms of exclusivity! Lost planet went to PS3 and DMC4 went to 360! DR went to the Wii, didn't you know? what about Gears3? recently Epic is working with EA on a new project but I personally doubt it has anything to do with gears and I think Gears will stay on only 360 and PC!

I say that's a yes or no with the comment about being "a good business decision." For instance does anyone care about Crash Bandicoot anymore, or Sypro the Dragon? Does anyone care about Devil May Cry or Vampire Rain?

Not all multiplatform games have as much thunder as an exclusive game on a signal platform. Like for example Grand Theft Auto IV lost some thunder when it went multiplatform. With Microsoft they tried to steal that with exclusive downloadable content. Do you really think games like Gears of War 2, Halo 3, Killzone 2, or Resistance 2 would be as popular if it was multiplatform. Multiplats also hinder the game because they have to find a balance that all similar platforms can handle.

In the end I say being exclusive allows you to be in the spot light a whole lot more than a multiplatform game. You get your gamers stating they have the best version, but that's just boosting.

Posted, I spent so much time moving around in those cutscenes using the Mk II to gather codes off of computers and finding all of the hidden items it isn't even funny. Those were the long cutscenes and you could play them.

Long cutscenes in MGS4 = thinking fans

The fact that there are so many people in here saying 'SC > MGS' just goes to show how skewed fans of this industry really are...

while its all a matter of opinion; so it really doesn't matter...it still amazes me...

the same arguments happen in all forms of entertainment too...Splinter Cell vs. MGS reminds me of the Saw vs. Seven fiasco back in 2004...James Wan is quoted as saying he made a 'better' movie than Seven with next to zero budget...and some idiots actually ended up agreeing with him...what it ended up being was a two bit crap fest with terrible acting, a ridiculously cheesy narrative, albeit with a intriguing plot device (the killer torturing people that didn't want to live before)...it was a success yes, but so where the backstreet boys...all Saw did was spawned 4 crap sequels with a 5th on the immediate horizon...

seven is the king of cop/killer suspense movies...MGS is the king of stealth action games...no question...its not even worth arguing over...Splinter Cell is nothing more than the Need for Speed of action games...the first game was pretty good and sold well, so they started making sequel after sequel year after year...and each one sucked more than the last...Hell conviction was nearly axed because they simply don't know what to do with the game...POG came on here and acted like it would rearrange how we play an action game...yet the entire concept of the game was so flawed they took the damn thing back to the drawing board...

MGS will go unmatched in ambition, style, and story for a decade most likely...Metal Gear Solid on the PS1 is still a better story driven action game than nearly everything except for its younger sequels...MGS4 trashes every other console game to date in terms of technology and gameplay dynamics (find another single player game that allows you to make so many different gameplay decisions each time, I dare you...)...while the cutscenes are long...you can skip them...so shut the hell up about that...

What amazes me though is how these 360 kids can say stuff like this...seriously?...what is wrong with you people?...are your standards so low, or your frustration that one of the best games of all time was just quoted as being impossible on your system of choice, that you resort to the age old 'well we didn't want it anyway' tactic?...

the 360 has NOTHING in its lineup that amounts to half of what MGS4 accomplishes...its the definition of a near perfect single player experience...while it doesn't have the replay value of some faster paced single player games, there is no doubt that your first playthrough of MGS4 will remain a major memory for decades to come...

you can love your 360 all you want...why you love it is something I will never understand, but I accept that...but stop going on the internet and proving how retarded you are on a daily basis by saying stuff like SC is the 'better game' than MGS...even a bleeding 360 fanatic should be able to understand the fact that, yeah it sucks that its not coming to the 360, but its still a ridiculously awesome franchise that wrecks everything in its genre...

at the same time though, look what happened in the past when this was debunked...the entire western media throws a fit because the precious 360 might not get one of the best games of all time...and we all know that the media over here simply won't have that...the 360 has been touted as the 'gamer's system'...there was a long period of the PS3 being regaurded as worthless......the fans of the 360 prove time and time again that they will protect their machine to the death, firing off ignorant claims of the PS3 being a movie player...

it sucks I know...but as time goes on articles like this point out the clear fact that...as it is now...the 360 is far from the console to own if you can only afford one system...it may have been back in late 2006, early 2007...but not anymore...
