SF4 producer tells Ed Boon: 'Bring it on!'

Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono has responded to Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon's recent comment that MKVSDCU will "kick" Street Fighter IV's "ass" by saying "bring it on!".

Ono-san issued the rebuke in an interview with VideoGamer.com from Leipzig Games Convention. But he also welcomed the competition, saying that if the Midway published title can convert comic fans to fighting game fans, then "the more the merrier".

He said: "You know what, if they can turn the comic fan into a fighting genre fan, the more the merrier. If they can kick our ass, so be it, bring it on! We're in the same team as far as we're concerned so if they can do it, great."

7 - MK vs. DCU > than SF IV?!
As decent as MK vs. DCU looks, thats all it is decent.

The last Mortal Kombat game that i feel was any good is MK Trilogy. All the 3d sequels have been pretty poor.

But in retrospect the latest Street Fighters haven't been upto scratch either, and SF II (Turbo or not) was the best one.

Obviously, Ed Boon said that to hype his game, it would be fun to see his face when he realize how much his provocation has been a failure. Mortal Kombat will never be as good as Street Fighters, and Street Fighters will never be as good as Dead Or Alive.

Ed Boon is clearly not a genius.

you can disguise a faulty and retarded combat system with as much blood as you want , it's still lame and weak .
Cheap gimmick like fatility cant hide these stuff forever .

... that I could practically PWN you BOTH in a round of Street Fighter. Sit you in a corner staring at a bucket of body parts, and you're content... the idea of engaging gameplay is secondary to fatalities and blood.

The worst Street Fighter game has played better than the BEST MK game. Anyone that thinks differently is just lying to themselves.

SF for pussies, MK for adults... you mean the "adults" who aren't smart enough to raise their own kids and monitor the type of content they're exposed to? Is that why you think this? Well, thanks for clearing that up...

successfully take on Marvel vs Capcom 2.........then maybe, just maybe you will have a leg to stand on with regards to SF4. I must say...the battle in the earlier 90s was sort of great.....even though I eventually went with SF2 over MK. The original MK was great....I remember the first time seeing it in arcades......once it hit 3d, and Tobias stepped aside....it lost me.

Yes. After MK II, my quarters become in short supply, by choice. The other MK's just didn't have the flair that 1-2 did. 3 was the last decent Mk, then it went downhill. They expanded on the MK universe with all these characters who just come out of the woodwork.

I miss the life-like pixelated fighters, because preforming a Fatality had a realistic feel to it when I saw human people on the screen preforming them.

Also, MK does not have Akuma, and that will be a problem for me.

The thing is I always loved Mortal Kombat. And I hate it when my favorite franchise is flamed on to crisps. How would you like it if 14 people in a row flamed some TV show you liked?

I admit Mortal Kombat Armageddon was the worst MK game ever. I also admit that I won't like MK VS DC.

However you people haven't bothered to play any of those games. I doubt it at least. So why would you want to speak up on it? Hey I never went around saying SF SUCKS, or any of that stuff. Think about how many hearts your breaking when you say stuff like that. Be respectful in your debates, it will get you a long way.

Instead of talking smack, why don't they make a MK vs SF games and let the battle take place on the gaming field.

Midway make MK vs SF with Fatalies, using the MK vs DCU graphics
Capcom make SF vs MK with no Fatalies, using the SFIV graphics.

MK vs DC looks cool and all, but if the recent MKs are anything to go by, then I can't see it touching SFIV in the fighting department. SFIV is straight up buy for me. However, I'll at least look into MK/DC to see if its at least good.

Simple i wouldnt care and act like such a brat . If i dont like it , i dont like it . never did , most likely never will , no amount of getting offended might change that .

I dont need to be proven right , never enjoyed the graphical style of MK , but at least it was unique then ... something the serie couldnt even hold on to when it switched to crappy generic 3d ...

Never enjoyed the gameplay , because i prefer fighters i believe to be far more complex and deeper (most of the old snk series , capcom's fighter , tekken , soul calibur) , or also games that are are , but insanely fast paced and fun (rival schools , bloody roar...) because the animation for starters never felt right to me , and got even worse in the 3d games .

Everyone got its tastes so get over it , and stop acting as if 14 people hating MK was so impossible ...
It's not even as if the game remained that popular beyond the third ... hence MK vs Dc to relaunch interest .

22 - Ed boon was awesome when mortal kombat hit it's pinacle with MK trilogy
all the spin offs and the jump to 3-d were nothing but poorly executed fatalities which made me lose hope in the series. and it never recovered from it's abysmal attempt. i like that he's hyping his game but don't even be like itagaki and say your game will kick a vetran like street fighter when you made your game in the shadow of it when you first came into the industry
