At this rate, actually the PS3 won't surpass the Xbox next year... do your math. It's about a difference of 5k per month for the PS3. That's 60k a year (let's make 100k a year, in account of the YTD, difference of 45k in 6 months). To reach the xbox, at this rate, it will take some time (few years).

As for the Wii, they are hammering the xbox and PS3 in every territory. Even in the software sales.

Yea but sony was getting outsold last yr...this yr they are doing the outselling. I expect them to extend the sales difference next yr as well. If the difference was just 5000 like you said, how do you think pS3 managed to cut into withing that range of the 360 despite launching a yr late. Don't forget things weren't too rosy for them last yr. You also forget 360 enjoyed a price cut in July.

If you adjust your math accordingly, we should share the same conclusions

fermcr, your calculation assumes equal sales throughout the year, and doesn't take into account the huge seasonal uptick towards the end (wait, Canada celebrates the holidays too, eh?)

Differences get magnified in the latter part of the year.

The PS3 may surpass the xbox, but it's still far away. At this rate (pointing this out... AT THIS RATE) maybe 2010 or 2011. It may be 2010 if the PS3 starts outselling the x360 by 2:1

In seven months ps3 outsold the 360 by 46,000. At the rate its going it going to take 5 years or more to catch the 360.

and the population of UK around 3-4 times more!! wow canada!! they r doing pretty well i guess!! it shows they have higher % of wealthier people than UK!!

LOL at 360<psp!! 360 is always last! it already lost the war!!! why is anybody buying it anyway?? it doesnt have blue ray! no wifi! not enough HDD, not free online gaming, not reliable hardware etc!!

but still we the bots think the less feature it have the winner we r, because a lot of features only cause confusing!! u see we r not confused like the driods we only have 4 different SKU(no HDD,20GB,60GB,120GB) and every time one SKU dies we buy the other one and that how it goes to keep strong sale of the 360 and to not let the 360 lie from this early!!
