UGO: Most Anticipated Action Games of 2008

Dust off your guns, polish your broadsword, and slap on whatever loose plot device that validates your recharging health: UGO is getting geared up for action. They're in the midst of the waning days of summer, and with these hotter months they're left out in the sun with very few games to distract them from the temperature. But that doesn't mean there aren't games to look forward to in the future! 1.2 - Oh yeah. They announce it first as if it will be the worst of the entire list.

SO F'N SURPRISING!!!. The online looks totally able to kill COD4. Resistance 2 gets almost little attention, but what the hell do you expect? It's PS3 exclusives, its like what the Yankee's get at the beginning of the MLB season; nothing but hate and desecration.

To their credit, this isn't a ranked list, so the fact that Killzone 2 appears first could just as easily be a compliment to the game as a criticism, or be the result of totally random ordering.

Of course, that doesn't explain why it's on the list at all with an '09 release date.

Isn't 4/6th of the way through the year a little late to be doing the "Most Anticipated" anything of 2008?

I'm seriously excited for Killzone 2.

But there's something that I just dont understand and something I need to get off my chest... for some reason there are still people skeptical of Killzone 2 and if you are, I don't know why. Guerrilla has been working with other Sony 1st party studios on Killzone 2, including Sony Santa Monica just to name one. And we've already seen tons of gameplay footage and I've yet to see framerate drops or any other issues.

Killzone 1 was Guerrilla's first game, so it's not like their first game would be flawless, but Killzone 1 was 4 years ago, and Guerrilla has learned from their mistakes. I guess I must be one of the few people that has actually has no doubts about Killzone 2 at all. After seeing so much of the awesome gameplay footage of KZ2 since E3, I seriously don't know how the hell anyone could doubt this game.

But anyways, I'm also looking forward to Fallout 3 and I'm planning on getting the Collectors Edition, and I'm definantly getting Resistance 2 and Dead Space.

Aclay I don't think there's as many gamers who are genuinely skeptical (on this site) as there are who genuinely just want to see the title fail. I'm not saying that if you're not interested in Killzone 2 then you're a 'hater'... but if you notice... most of the people who put this title down are those who never wanted to like the game or the PS3.

Personally, I think the game looks fantastic, and it's reached a point where I could almost not care at all if the single-player campaign sucks (I don't think it will) because the multi-player aspect looks to be everying I could possibly want out of an FPS. I won't say I have no doubt it will be an amazing game because I don't like saying things like that about any game before I've had hands-on time with it. But honestly from what's been shown I have a very hard time seeing how it could fail. Many FPS games have come out and been able to rest almost solely on their multi-player aspects... and I don't see how Killzone 2 could fail in that regard.

As good as Killzone looks..every gameplay video i've watched the enemy AI is awful...let's hope it's not a problem when the game ships..and i'm still not convinced that this will be the game to beat in 09..

I can comment on COD4 and Halo3. I believe Halo3 had more realistic AI then COD4. If you played on veteren or hardened on COD4 the enemies could see you from miles and would target you only and our cannon fodder compatriots would just run and get their aZZ handed to them. Luckily the key NPC woudn't die even after catching a live grenade in their hands.

Halo3 had AI scrambling for cover as soon as u try to shoot one and they would dive out of the enemy fire and lob nades at you as well. I was quite impressed with the AI of HALO3.

Played R1 on split screen only and coudn't get used to controls after struggling for 10 mins and gave up. Also noted lack of direction finder for the other player.

Heard UC had good AI as well with AI using cover etc.

Glad to see my most anticipated game on the top spot! And my second not far behind. There are no games I'm more excited for this year than Mirror's Edge and Left 4 Dead.

If Killzone and Resident Evil were actually coming out this year, it might be different.
