Palgn: Dyack hits out at Epic

The rather talkative Denis Dyack - president of Canadian developer Silicon Knights - has slammed Epic Games (the ones hard at work on Gears of War 2) for taking the legal battle between the companies to the press.

1 - Geez, Dyack doesn't know when to shut up
The man's been on a serious roll of talking nonsense. It's like he doesn't realize that he is making a fool of himself.

And as for his battle with Epic, MANY other games both made and upcoming use the same programming algorithm (engine) as Silicon Knights did. You don't hear Square, Sony, EA, 2k, or Sega complaining about a faulty Unreal engine do you?

But the way this looks, they are just using Epic as the "fallguy" for their own shortcomings. This is a game that has had various development problems over the course of ten years.

When did Sony use the Unreal Engine? Please do tell.

If anything is to be learned from this expirience.

1)Look at all the fine print in a contract when licensing any software applications especially ones that cost thousands.

2)Except defeat, take it like a "man".

I had alot more respect for Silicon Knights until I saw Dyack. Ever since I saw him, I have no interest in their games!

I guess with every company trying to have a face to speak for them... I guess he thought he would be a great figure to show to people! "He's wrong!

When you got Shigeru Miyamoto, Hideo Kojima, Cliff B, Jade Raymond... How could you put a guy who looks like he has no friends, no girlfriend/wife, lives in his parents basement and hangs around elementary schools. In so many words..."He looks like a no life having perv!" I would not want him speaking for my company because of that, and now that he speaks for the company, I really would not want him to do the job!

That might have sounded harsh... But I just don't like this dude! Funny looking and stupid... Bad combination!

Just shut up already, you've ruined yourself as a PR man and your image as a respectable person, I highly doubt that Microsoft will fund any more of your projects if you are going to open your mouth like this in the media.

Really quite an arrogant and obnoxious guy, I really didn't have a single problem with this guy, in fact I used to think he was a decent developer since I loved Eternal Darkness...but this guy has literally destroyed any respect people once had for him and SK.

Well I hope he wins because I am tired of seeing Unreal Engine games. For the record I don't own a 360 but if I did I would buy Too Human. All you PS3 trolls need to chill who cares what this game scored. I love Dynasty Warriors and that game always gets bashed, but I don't care because I can and will make my own decisions. I suggest you do the same.

Well Denis D tried both actually but everytime he talked to a reporter or went on a podcast everyone first made fun of him and then got so tired from all his jabbering that they went in to sleep mode.

I meant no ill will to Too Human before, even if it is mediocre, but I'm just getting sick of this guys mouth.

I hope your FKN game bombs, and bombs hard, your trilogy is cancelled, your company liquidates and you end up as a mid level programmer for EA rendering armpits on Gridiron player. You never gonna make Blood Omen 2 anyway, (I mean a proper top-down action RPG sequel to the first one, not that 3rd person dross, so) what do I care.
