At long last, Too Human has been released. The long development cycle of the game and a seemingly endless stream of controversies have threatened to establish a mythology larger than the one presented in the game itself and eclipse the true question, "Is the game any good." 1.2 - yeah, they used to be pretty funny too and smart about reviews.

They give now give no substance in reviews and fell apart pretty easily.

I think Adam and Morgan's acting is started to go down the sink too. I just never noticed it unitl they started their 'new xplay'

1.5 - X-Play...

I'm glad Too Human got a good score and all, but THIS IS X-PLAY. This is the same show that RIPS anything Japanese and Sony and calls for it to evolve and move on whilst giving anything Nintendo branded an automatic good score. This is the same show that will promote the 360 like they're on the MS payroll and focus entirely on Microsoft for interviews and special segments unless it envolves Ted Price and Insomniac (cause Morgan loves those guys).

I remember X-Play giving a 4/5 to Viking. I was like, HEY! Good review!...that game sucked horribly. I remember them giving FF: Crisis Core a 2/5....averaging 85 on metacritic and with them giving little explaination...nice!

I also remember Motorstorm's 3/5 and comments like "why would you buy a PS3", "useless PS3", "sell your PS3."

*sigh* I hate X-Play. Useless, biased and overexposed.

no, X-play and g4 as a whole is just crap. x-play used to be my favorite show, I think it really fell apart when they got that orange/black set change.g4 is a joke because it went from being a true gamers channel to a rerun channel that tries to mimic Spike but fails horribly.

If any G4 cast member likes something, then it seems the whole station rides that things nuts and hops on the bandwagon. I remember hearing Kevin on AOTS yesterday being excited about Too Humans release, and Adam and Morgan also were anticipating this game. Seriously the whole network hops on the bandwagon when its that time. They are the biggest bandwagoners I've ever seen on cable television.

But I knew they would praise this game. Really proves their current lack of credibility. Oh what happened to G4.

Now what I have found out is that G4 Media is just a network own by Comcast & EchoStar. But, Xplay the show itself is owned by TechTV. Now eversince in May of 2004 TechTv merged with G4 Media, alot of their shows were droped, CUZ IT SUCKED MAJOR ASS, except for a couple includeing Xplay. Now tis the surprise. TechTV is owned by Ziff-Davis (ZDmedia), G4 Media (Comcast) and VULCAN VENTURES, which is an INVESTMENT company OWNED BY PAUL ALLEN (co-founder of Microsoft) to handle HIS INVESTMENTS. In the past year or so X-Play has sadly given up on the idea of "brutally honest" game reviews (used to be their motto) in favor of straight up pandering. Basically if a game has a lot of marketing money, hype behind it it gets a higher score than it might deserve. They thrive on industry access and now that they are becoming more mainstream they can't afford to cheese people off - so they go for the safe option.

Take a Assassin's Creed. I played the whole game, it was OK. It has some cool elements, but was far far from perfect. But it had a ton of hype surrounding it so X-Play gave it a 5 out of 5 and hailed it as one of the best games of the year.

It's a shame, but they've sold out. I still TiVo it though :)

Explain MGS4? Maybe they actually enjoyed it? Just because somebodys bias doesn't mean that they will HATE EVERYTHING that isn't in their personal bias. I think they've proven to have a pretty clear bias in favor of 360 and Microsoft, regardless of any games they enjoyed on Ps3. Obviously a cable television show can't get away with scoring EVERY SINGLE Ps3 game low for no apparent reason, but I do think they can clearly get away with showing a slight bias and trying to sway their viewers opinions ever so slightly, cuz they obviously do right now with people still blind to it.

G4 has just turned into bandwagoners, I don't know if they purposely mean to show any bias, they just hop on whatevers "in" or trendy with this new internet or "Youtube" generation. What about Wii? Its a different audience, 360 is the "in" system with the whole hardcore and internet generation type of crowd, which is exactly what G4 aims at as well. I don't know if that makes any sense, its hard to for me to explain, but I've been watching G4 since the network got started a long time ago and I've watched them slowly change the past two years, they've completely changed their target audience.

7 - It's sad.

It's sad when a game has to have perfect ratings to be labeled as good. Ratings are simply someone elses opinion. With professional ratings from mags and tv shows, atleast the reviewers are responsible for what they say. When you start to mix in the biased "reviews" from fan sites, the review system is broke. Lair was probably the game affected by this the most. It is a very good game that was over looked by many due to the unprofessional opinionized and biased drivel spewn all over the internet by many people that didn't own a PS3 or even a copy of the game. Haze was another and now Too Human. All very good games and worth playing, yet are known more for the bs from the net instead of how fun the game is.

The system is broken and we are to blame.

...the parent company is owned by Microsoft, or Bill Gates, however that goes. It's not a bad thing, but you have to wonder sometimes when you see reviews like that. It seems like every review site that had Too Human advertising plastered on it gave it a good review; not all of them, but most of them.

Me? I dunno; it seems okay. I would rent it myself, but that's just a personal choice.

I've never played Too human but Xplays review just doesn't flow with IGN, Gamespot and the rest. I was expecting maybe a 3 but "A sold 4" seems abit questionable.

Then again this is G4 Microsoft had to get someone to sell their soul and give it a good review.

I've said this before - When did we as gamers become so beholden to the whims of reviewers? Are we cattle...herd us to the proverbial slaughter (draining us of our $60)?!
I've read just about every review on this game....yes, not actually glanced at a abbreviated piece or take a gander at the meta score. I've noticed that gamers like to talk the talk....they want innovation (and I ain't saying TH is innovative), but they want things easy too...easy to pick-up, easy to understand. I want all my FPS's to have Halo's control scheme...but i ain't saying it's the best; but it is what i'm used to. And here's where the crutch comes in- we want innovation...but we'll have your Dev's head if it isn't what we indivdually want! Let's look at graphics...i find TH to have above average graphics....but they ain't no Gears! So, if Gears is a 9.5....then what's TH? I'd say a 7...but then you take a game like Crash Mutant whatever (i forgot the title) and the Graphics are a 7...but the art direction makes a 7 look like a 9. Crash doen't need to be super realistic...it's a cartoon style game. I look at TH as a realistic interpretation....rather than a true photo styled game like Gears (though Gears isn't as photoreal as say GT5: ptologue).
Anyhow, much of what i've said above is meandering....so I apologize. I'll leave it at this: finding a honest reviewer looking at a game for not just what he/she likes, but what he/she thinks the target demographic would like...is increasingly becoming rarer. Not being influenced by personal dislikes towards wanker Dev's or following the herd of other reviewers - is getting tougher to find. Ultimately, it's your money, your time and your likes/dislikes...and flamers in forums would rather rattle your cage than go play a game they like...what's that tell ya?

Reviews are reviews nothing more then a recommendation.

Take them at face value whoever doesn't play a game because of them besides 1's and 2's are ridicules.

Im not a herd i'm a individual.

But liek they say humans individually are highly intelligent put them in a group and the IQ drops so low is embarrassing( I know I messed the quote up but I gave it some understanding for others)
