Is this a subscription fee or a one time fee? If it's a one time fee, this will be more worthwhile than that netflix thing. Netflix on 360 has a limited choosing, but with this, it appears you can download whatever you want. I bet that there's a ton of ads though.

Apple products don't always work well with devices that aren't developed by Apple. Since PC platforms with a Microsoft OS are far more prevalent it makes more sense to make a product that would interface and work with an MS platform. Don't get me wrong, I am no fan of MS, but things are generally more compatible with Windows than with Apple software. Don't shoot the messenger.

So, netflix support for the ps3, in a sense.
Kinda makes Netflix on the 360 irrelevant.

Netflix on the 360 makes Netflix on the PS3 irrelevent.
It appears as though that argument works two ways...
I wonder how many disagrees I'm gonna get...
BTW:That's still some pretty cool news. I'm gonna have to get a Playstation 3 soon.

You're right. Neither are relevant. Well, perhaps relevant isn't the word; neither has the advantage based on Netflix alone it seems.

yea but MS made a huge deal about Net flicks on the 360 as a huge selling point during and after E3. He was probably just referring to that.

yup, your right. they were making a big deal about it. they were actually boasting about it to the hiphopgamer and now look, they no longer will have the largest selection of movies anymore. XD
this is so really cool news though but cant we already watch youtube on ps3 through internet browser??? i can get thedark knight on my ps3 along with other movies that are still in theaters and most movies in general for free but i dont do that any more : P its really cool though their bootleg and even though i can just go down in the subway and get them from some dude, i can just get them off the internet right through my internet browser and watch them then and their : P and thats just ONE thing my internet browser is good for : ) not to forget free high deff movies that arent in theaters anymore. ; )

4.6 - 360 netflix irrelevant
the quality of the netflix streaming will make netflix irrelevant on both systems. you have to have a netflix subscription, and when you put that on your nice big hdtv, you'll be wishing you just got sent the damn disc

I have a gaming computer. The thing doesnt give off that much heat but if its on all day the office gets a couple degrees hotter than the hole house. I need to build a low energy pc soon.

Apparently you gloat about features that you don't even use. All 8 of those people must have a Netflix subscription, basically making it pointless. This is much better, and Hulu is included.

8 - are you serious
do you really think you're going to rent a movie, get 7 people on live or however many to sit an watch a standard def movie with you, AND chat with them? Is your social life really bound to your xbox 360? Come on man be serious.
Of the 3 rl friends that I have with 360s NONE of them will do this. We have real movie nights that include renting a blu-ray and sitting in one house watching the movie. Even then we don't sit and talk through the movie..
Sometimes you guys take these worthless features a tad bit overboard.

Already doing this on the 360 since launch. If you have a 360 and Vista/WMC you can do all this stuff without having to pay for this program and get a ton more features.
Also, the Netflix doesn't allow for any queue management so it's rather ghetto and is not available right now anyway.

Downloading the beta now; hopefully the Netflix support comes before the 60 days is up. Usin my View it Now through my pc is something I've been longing for for a while now, and I was highly disheartened to hear MS announcing exclusivity to consoles. the 30 is well worth it in my eyes; much cheaper still than the set-top box option.

Am i the only one having problems running it? I get a pop up telling me that cant access folder and that the content may have been deleted from the media server. It shows all the episodes fine, but when you try to play them, it gives that error... I would love to be able to use this.

The service is fairly unreliable. I along with others can't get it to work. Apparently your PC needs to be more "open" to allow it to work. So careful running as admin with no firewall...

Since microsoft apparantly paid for console exclusivity of this feature (and why Netflix would agree to that is beyond me), this is the only way that I'm aware of for a ps3 user to use Watch It Now through their tv without buying a setup box to do it. Why you would begrudge users enjoyment in this opportunity is beyond me. No, it's likely not as integrated as 360's will be (and in fact not existent as of yet), but if it does allow me to view my queue and the Watch it Now selection (and judging by the youtube channel, I think it can handle those two), then it really does all I need it to do.

you knock playstation for having to use media center for netflix, cuz the 360 can do it natively, then you talk about using a 360 with media center to run web browser and youtube, which ps3 can do natively?
