Too Human 2 to take less time

Denis Dyack reveals that "There won't be any more engine re-writes or anything like that".

Too Human has had a troubled development, but it will finally arrive in the UK on August 29 (August 19 in the US). This is all well and good, but what about the next two games in the planned trilogy? Speaking to VideoGamer.com at a recent press event in London Dyack confirmed that the plan is still to make a trilogy of games and that the next game won't take so long to complete.

"It's certainly going to be faster than the first game. The whole idea of doing the trilogy was it was meant for the 360. Plans are still on track, nothing has changed." stated Dyack. "We're not announcing anything on the second or third game here. We're here to talk about the first. But people should be fairly happy at the development process from here on in. There won't be any more engine re-writes or anything like that. So it should be a lot smoother waters."

1 - LOL.
Funny. Let`s see how Too Human 1 does FIRST. I`m NOT sure if this trilogy will make it.

Maybe, we`ll see.

Exactly, shouldn't they wait until they see how good Too Human 1 is before they start talking about the second game.

Shouldn't they wait till the next Xbox? I doubt two more games like this will fit into like 5 years MAX now?

The Sistine Chapel took less time only four years. Of course Michaelangelo didn't start out using the Unreal Engine.

hmmm...they aren't even sure if the first one will be good enough to deserve a sequel. Actually I'm foreseeing a lot of reviews that will pan the game. They say that to err is human. The developers quite messed up this one; I'm guessing they're too human after all.

Too Human 2 on the 360 isn't going to do any better. The system power of the 360 is obsolete.

Thats if MS give you the funding to make the second one. If the first flops in sales than a doubt they'll waste their money on a sequel let alone a whole trilogy

Exactly. I still feel that there is a lot of potential in Too Human, I hope it does well, so that we can get more.

LOL, The first one took almost ten years. Cutting it by half seems fair enough. j/k

Uh...if I were them, I would wait to see all the reviews so I can understand what I did wrong with the first game and see how I can fix it.

Great post. This is what needs to happen, I would wait 6 months to a year. Find out what I did wrong and improve on the areas that sucked, while keeping the areas that were good intact. bubs for you

5 - Why not start with a new IP?
Now people think of Too Human is an average game(which it is at best) so Silicon Knights has the potential and the creativity to bring something new so why not start over?

Yeah, they've got a chance to redeem themselves with a New IP and if they redeem their name, Too Human 2 might not be under as much criticism as the first installment of Too Human.

But honestly I think that this is what more developers should do. They should develop one IP, then develop a new IP, and then develop a sequel to the first IP after finishing up the new IP... it would definantly keep things more fresh in the gaming industry and cut down on so many sequels in a short time period.

I'd like to see them take on board the criticism of this one, and then improve those areas to make this the AAA it undoubtedly could be.
I'm not bashing this game, but I am suggesting its not quite the awesome blockbuster it had the potential to be.

Unfortunately, the guy doesn't seem to think any criticism is warranted at all, so I assume they'll release the same thing with a bit more story, which is s shame, because with just bit more 'focus', it could be a true classic...

Well conseidering they need 6 years of planning and 4 to develop the game, they should release the sequel for the Xbox 1080...

9 - Too Human 2?
"The game is simply schizophrenic...There's absolutely no reason why a game in 2008 should have a bug where characters can fall through solid ground and into some pseudoabyss." -1Up

Xbox 360 owners DEMAND something fresh and exciting...I know I do...I want cutting edge...a first party INTERNALLY DEVELOPED NEW IP Microsoft...something to get excited about...Too Human AIN'T IT...

how can a game like Too Human hold up beyond 2008? The bar has already been raised even at its initial release...and will only become higher...

Meh, Too Human to me is average and I'm not willing to give him or the devs money for what seems to be a poor game. Instead I will be buying Stalker and Stalker Clear Sky for the PC instead which is a much better game.

"Too Human 2 to take less time" : it will be cancelled by MS as soon as tomorrow, so yeah it's definitely faster.
