"The online is lag-free, the graphics are updated and look good, and the gameplay, while unchanged, still plays great. But fundamentally, can the new additions justify purchasing the new edition of Madden? As a causal football and Madden fan, no, they're not. The new elements to the game were high in concept and poor in execution, leaving you with a game that is without a purpose for existing. (Besides a huge paycheck) Hardcore Madden fans can justify purchasing it with the inclusion of online leagues–but for the rest of you that don't care about that, stick with Madden NFL 08."

Don't consider a game a flop based off one review. IGN gave it like an 8.8, I think. I don't think that's flop material.

Granted, no year-to-year Madden is a big revolution in the way we play video game football, but for me this is the best version in a few years.

It may get totally defamed to the point of being on par to Scott Baio's acting career, but in terms of revenue-accumulation its nothing but a corporate honey-pot.

i hate this madden im happy i just rented it lag-free are they serious? every ea game i have bought or played on ps3 lags like hell. but before the bad connections come in i would just like to say cod4 resistance ridge racer fear none of those lag on me.

Yes for Madden I believe you are using EA servers on PSN and XBL. This person is talking about the 360 version so maybe PSN has more lag issues. I think they are probably about the same.

Going to rent it because I need an american football fix.

have lag issues. I have NCAA on 360 and Madden on both and they lag it's EA and EA is terrible just get used to it.

6 - This years Madden is.....

CRAP!!! How is it any better than last year? Last year you could pass the ball with ease and blow people away, this year you can't pass at all. It was the same the in 07. It is like every year they switch the AI difficulties to make it easy to throw one year and easy to run the next year.

The playbook is the same no matter who you play with, so you have to buy Head Coach if you want to create your own plays for some diversity. The graphics are crap. Sure the field looks a little better than last year but all of the players, and the one ref, are shiny. Why do shiny things equal better graphics? Also, when you get tackled you float across the top of the turf before you finally stop.

On top of things my 360 freezes before I am able to finish even one game in Franchise Mode. I knew I should have bought it for PS3 but those darned achievements keep pulling me in.

I really like this madden better than all the other ones this Generation..

But i will say this.. It is freaking hard.. I cant even beat the computer.. I dont know if i suck really bad because i havent played in awhile or its just the game.. But dam i dont remember ever losing to the computer in a madden game.. Its almost impossible to do anything.. You really have to pick your plays right.. I like the challenge so im going to keep at it..

Online wise it is a little laggy on the psn but not to bad.. Nothing to cry about if your playing with a good connection.. The thing i hate is when i finally play good the other person leaves and i try to beat the computer and i always lose.. My record online is like 0-6.. lol.. Last year i was like 8 - 1.. What FFFF happened to meeee... COD4/WARHARK!!!!!

I think these guys just want publicity. I, myself, am not a fan of Madden games, however, I am aware of the fact that they are massive games indeed. Even if each year, there is a small incremental upgrade, it still offers a lot of content as a whole. Although, I wouldn't recommend a yearly purchase unless you're like a collector or something along the lines of some nerdy antique gamer. lol

2 - I'm glad.

I passed on it this year and im glad there is already glitches, bugs, and the same old garbage.

Im sick and tired of playing a football game that truthfully does not capture the true essence of football.

Is this the best football game out, yea absolutely. People have nothing to compare to so everyone will be satisfied with the same old game play with minor changes.

At least this year they added Madden Moments which seemed like a cool idea. The graphics are the best they have ever been but at the same time you'd think after what 20 years, they'd have everything down to a T. The crowd is still garbage, there are still jagged lines, my freakin receiver still runs out of bounds on outs, throwing the ball never ever feels even remotely close to how it feels in real life, the players feel small and puny, hitting someone feels worthless, the list goes on.

With that being said this year does look better than most and ive been really tempted to pick it up but im resisting. They didnt even make the PC version this year? WTF. Then again you probably said whatever because of the piracy. Which REALLY sucks for the people who do buy the games!

Anyone know whats better the Ps3 or 360 version?
