Dude. The new Halo game coming up is the worst kept secret. Everyone knows a Halo 4 is coming up seeing the end of Halo 3. It might not be called Halo 4 but its clear.

I am sure that it will be recieved well amongst the Halo community, but having played Halo 3 I don't see myself going back and playing an expansion. Judging by the end of that video and what all went down in it, I would say its a higher end map editor.

Okaaaaay, when a PS3 game is discussed and I see any one of you guys come around and say 'I don't like it', I will gang up on you THE SAME DAMN WAY.

Notice that none of us insulted Halo. We just said that we're not fans of it. Does it give you the right to gang up on us as if we insulted the game or something? Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean you're not allowed to comment on articles.

What you did was just sickening. What a way of taking the internet so damn seriously. If we insulted the game, then your disagrees and comments would be justified. But we did nothing wrong AND YET you felt the need to gang up on us like a couple of bullies.

That's why I cannot stand some 360 fans. Heaven forbid someone says they're not into Gears or Halo, they're attacked to the point they're forced to say 'I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT!'. -.-

What? So what you're saying is, that if I was to see some news on the front page (like this one) to do with the 360, and comment on it, I'd be in the wrong because... I don't have a 360 or like the game? In fact, I'm not even allowed to express my opinion of the game? Ridiculous. People are allowed to comment on whatever they bloody well want to, and you have no right to tell them otherwise. You can either debate with them, or ignore them.

I say this fully knowing that I will get tons of disagrees by PS3 fans that will not take the time to understand my comment. So here we go...

So, do you not like God of War 1 and 2? Essentially it is the same game, but the story is what keeps it fresh. I actually loved God of War 1 and God of War 2 for the fact that God of War 2 felt like an extension of the 1st.....and I hope God of War 3 continues with the tradition. I appreciate games that feel like they were one big project but was split into one or two games because of how major they were. How are you defining better?

Better means better than the first one. Your example with GOW is not correct either as GOW1 and GOW2 is on the PS2. Halo 1 and Halo 3 are on different gen. I expected alot more from Halo 3 as the 1st was the best FPS i played.

You do not feel that it was a natural progression from 1 to 3? Perhaps I just do not know what I should be expecting from companies....but I have enjoyed all 3 for what they were. My fear is that you are chasing that perfect high......my comparison would be this......not matter was Kobe or Lebron does.....they will never be Jordan....the time frame for Jordan was just right, and he helped advance the game...so pretty much everybody now will live in his shadow to a degree. I feel the same with Halo.....on a new console, it was one of the few games to pick up at launch...so you were sort of forced to love it. I remember picking it up at launch.....the timing was just right.....so from here, I am not sure if Halo 2, 3, 4, or so on will ever give you that feel you got from Halo 1.

you are right but there are a few cases where the sequal is better then the original. I guess i expected too much from MS especially after seeing the original trailer of Halo 3. After 4 years of dev i expected much improve graphics and a better SP which i felt was just average. I loved Halo 1 in that it really got me caring about the characters and the situation they are in but for some reason that was lost in 2 and 3. I guess the story got too convouluted and too branched out that it lost its personal feel. I expected some crazy stuff in Halo3 but nothing did stand out for me. It just felt more of the same.

where my debate lies. When the xbox launched I completed Halo 1 with my brother......but when 2 and 3 came out, we were unable to play the game together....so I have been pondering if I did not complete 2 and 3 because I was unable to play with my brother.......or because the story did nothing for me. Haha, in Halo 3 I probably got no more than 20 minutes into the game. Now that I think........Halo was something special. Halo 2 I sort of just blew off......and Halo 3 has been fun to frag people when I take a break from Call of Duty 4.

Halo will always be remebed as the game that brought FPS into mainstream console gaming. I remember the opening scenes. The Convents really ticked me off that i felt like killing all of them off. I never felt like that before playing a FPS.

As a shooter from what i played of bioshock it is more melee and powers than shooting, it is unique. I wouldn't want other fps to imitate bioshock, better is subjective, cod4 is one of the better fps to me. Goty 2007 would probably think halo 3 is the better game, i disagree.

@sitdown i understand where you going with it and agree to an extent, but it is hardly even essentially the same game(that to me means same enemies/same levels, same bosses), i'll explain it better. It has the same gameplay style but tells a different chapter in kratos's life/battles ie the story.

However i do agree, about looking forward to part 3, i wouldn't mind them doing a prequel or 2 afterward, hopefully we will see more at tgs on it.

I like Halo but I will not get a game just because Bungie made it. I don't know of anything else that Bungie has made. Halo2 and xbox live was a great combination for each other at that time. If I like the way something plays and looks I'll buy it even if you made it.

when bungie split with microsoft, there were some deals made

im too lazy to look for any link, but i think one of the requirements that bungie needs to fulfill include making another halo game in the main franchise-other parts of the deal probably include being exclusive to the xbox and offering microsoft the chance to publish all of their new games for at least 5 years, but probably even more, and they probably have to help different devs who are working on halo games (ensemble, wingnut) as well as the halo novels and (if it ever comes out) movie

those last parts of the deal are guesses, but i think those make sense

so even though bungie (presumably) want to make new games and create new IPs, they still have some promises to keep with microsoft regarding halo, so those new games might have to wait a few years...

@funky, look at valve! they made HL series and lots of people are ready to buy L4D made by them even with valve using the old source engine for that game which will not make it look any better than HL2 ep2. for me, L4D is simply a CS with zombie mods!

as i said in a comment above, bungie has some contracts to fulfill as part of the deal that separated them from microsoft

so even though they may want to work on new games, they're obligated to make halo for now

but im sure we will have some news on games soon-i know i have read several times that bungie has many games to be announced, and only one os halo related (something like that-you can google it if you desperately want to know)

also: you say "halo game on the side," but i think it is much more likely that a halo project would be their main game (for now) and that any other games would be side projects...
