EA Exec Talks Dead Space, Dishes on Cliffy B

EA executive producer Glen Schofield says that Cliff Bleszinski told him Dead Space "looks great" on the Unreal Engine. One problem, the game uses EA's own graphical engine. It's one highlight in a very revealing video interview that Planet Xbox 360 had with Schofield at EA's Redwood Shores location about Dead Space.

The entire video (.mpg) is on Planet Xbox 360's site. Camera work's a little shaky, but all you need is the audio. Schofield, with little prompting, talks very candidly about the game's design, how it compares with other familiar titles, and how it all came to be.

I played this for a couple hours last week and came away VERY impressed; overall the experience was one that I have yet to see on the Xbox 360 or in this generation of gaming at all. Reminded me a lot of the older, more scary Resident Evil titles......worth checking out for sure!

A site called PS3 fanboy is hardly a reliable source, and your lame username doesn't exactly add to your credibility. Of course, it is not really that big of a deal which platform is the leading one. The difference in graphics and gameplay is usually so small that is not even worth mentioning, except by fanboys.

This game looks good, but personally I'm more excited about GeOW2. Of course, I've never been a huge fan of survival horror. Still, I might check this one out.

PS3 Fanboy is a part of the Joystiq Network, which is owned by AOL, if I remember correctly. They're legitimate, professional gaming journalists. They've also got a site named Xbox 360 Fanboy, so it's not like the network is biased.

Still, don't misinterpret what the article states. The 360 was the lead platform, it just got switched to the PS3 a while back. Most likely, this was simply to make sure that both versions were identical. It's a pretty fair approach, and not something to get overly excited about.

Dead Space is a game that I've been looking forward too ever since I saw the first trailer for the game. I've never really been into survival horror games and Dead Space is one of the first that has actually spurred my interest in the Survival Horror genre. Dead Space is a first day purchase for me.

Cliffy probably just made a mistake, since the game looks so well and devs are using the Unreal Engine he probably just made a honest mistake. Mirrors Edge uses the UE, maybe he forgot which EA game uses it? I personally cant wait for either game. EA is doing very well with all the new IPs.

i think resistance2 will be supirior to gears2 b/c the online has 30 vs 30 and to me more is better and 8 player coop and resistance1 had a really good story from start to finish with good graphics and gameplay not to mention all the action and enemys onscreen wile holding their AI you dont see that on 360 games due to the cell processor and not to mention all the guns it has and every gun has a secondary fire all unique and cool as hell plus all the content resistance had due to blu-ray disc PLUS the 300ft crazy ass looking monster you have to kill.

You obviously never used a ps3 before, the installs on a lot of games are optional, GT5p and SC4 i know right of the top of my head and there are more, and installs make the game play better, I know your thinking it has to do with the *slow* bluray drive(I can also prove to you that bluray is faster than DVD) but its not, many developers want to make mandatory installs on the 360 but the arcade version prevents them.
