Do you remember 2K sports pricing last generation?
Maybe they just want you to play this game and are not looking to break your bank so you will experience it. I was on the fence about Banjo but now (if this article is true) I will most likely pick it up.

Sony did something similar with Patapon (though it really isn't a kid's game), and even Disgaea 3 is coming out at $49.99. Hopefully more and more games will be released at appropriate price points.

Hopefully as the price of game development gradually falls, we would see more affordable games coming out for both systems.

I have had some hands on time with Viva Pinata and it was really addictive but Banjo nuts and bolts looks like an even better game, so decided to get that instead.

Another thing is that there are to many games coming out from august till the end of the year, so decided to suspend the purchase of some games to spring 2009.Fallout 3 and Viva 2 fell into that both while Gears2,Infinite Undiscovery Too Human, Fable 2,banjo 3,Left 4 Dead and Last remnant would get my money this year.

But as i said, if this rumor is true, then i will add Viva 2 to my 08 list.

in previous gens this was around the point where games started to drop from 50 down to 40 so it is possible

and considering these games are more casual they would like a more appealing price point so again it makes sense

we'll have to wait and see but nothing but good can come from a ease on my wallet

If this info is true, than that is awesome. Planned on getting both anyways, but would have to put off a game or two till later, but if they are cheaper than don't hafta put pff any games I want.

It could just be a strategy to try and target the casual audience.
