Ghostbusters to be "put out to tender": source

Speaking under conditions of anonymity, a UK source familiar with the situation surrounding the Activision Blizzard merger has confirmed that Ghostbusters has not been canned, and is to be put out to tender.

teams or dev teams or other studios will bid to complete the game.they need to show,maybe via tech demo,with music or storyboard that they can finish the game at the desired standard. The team thats making Silent Hill 5 had to do the same.

meh then i think the Sony should complete it, since it is being lead developed on the PS3..

what i dont get is that this game has the buzz, the screens got everyone talking and the premise seems all good to me. that building sene looking down at the marshmelow is total wetness.

So what is activision thinking.

Out of all the games that they should have kept and continued developing this should have been near the top of the list.

I would pick this over another crash or spyro any day. In fact, from my point of view, I would say this was almost the best from the list!

Activision-Blizzard (formerly Vivendi),

and from what i can tell, Ghostbusters isn't going anywhere, neither is 50 Cent, Leisure Suit Larry, and Chronicles of Riddick (which i'm working on, and i actually HOPE it gets canned, considering what an amazing bag of mediocrity it is; Butcher Bay is fine, however. everything else is just...meh). SO FAR.

i don't know about the other games we have in production, but those titles are

1) big titles
2) licensed titles.

just up Activision's alley. if they can sell a few million copies of a game based off of their name alone, i wouldn't worry too much about Ghostbusters.

now, some of the original IP (ie, Brutal Legends), i'm not too sure about.

oh yeah, and Ghostbusters is looking GREAT, so i find it hard to believe that Activision-Blizzard would put it on hold. so far, it's the best game we have out on the floor at the moment.
